Everything about this game was typical Arsenal.
Even with Emery it’s the same old predictable performance.

We had loads of possession.
We had loads of chances.
We went behind in the first half.
Our defence are still unorganised and naive
Xhaka gives the ball away too often.
Ramsey shoots wildly over the bar.
Xhaka shoots wildly over the bar.
We get injuries to defenders.
We get caught on the break far too often.
There is too much passing around the box.

Our transfer window will also be predictable.
It is obvious to everyone who knows anything about football that we need quality defenders and we will do nothing about it.

We were laughing at Man U just a few games ago and now they are clearly going to overtake us.
They have the players and the ambition.
We don’t.

Yeah and Ozil was predictable too.

I definitely had a flashback to the Wenger days when United were defending deep in their box and we just kept moving the ball around tediously, slowly waiting for the moment to come which never did. The amount of times we got inside and didn’t just shoot also was so maddening.

well they did spend like 500m in the last few windows and they are pretty much on par with us as far as points in the league i dont think what they are acheiving is anything amazing either. They will be back to playing like cunts as soon as they are bored again with their now old manager. I love how people are comparing us with manu when they should be doing far better with their squad but are not after spending stupid amounts of money and our squad needs ripping apart and starting again, they are hardily in the same situation.

The difference is that Man U are decisive and don’t wait several seasons before getting rid of a manager who’s dragging them down.

They will also go out and pay for the players they need to get them back to the top.
What do we do when we need top quality players in so many positions?
Absolutely nothing, if this window is anything to go by.

and this is emerys fault is it? who the fuck are we gonna find in january even in summer to repair everything in one go. If you think this is gonna be a quick fix i dont know what to tell you.

I didn’t say it was Emery’s fault, the blame is entirely on the way the club is run, the mess Wenger left and Kroenke’s lack of ambition.

Nothing wrong with the players. We got a solid personnel to be challenging for Top 4 and a cup or two. Not City or Liverpool(and maybe tottenham?) but around the same levels with Chelsea and Man Utd, at the very least.

Some really good stuff today tbf. Laca and Ramsey amazing shifts in. Made the team click. Iwobi wasn’t that bad himself.
Unfortunately we were let down because Mr. Gazidis and co. went and brought a man who could be argued, is even more attacking driven than Arsene. Arsene gave up on the defence long ago after the Bouldy effect was no more. Emery and his crew seemed to have tried coaching these guys to defend with high pressure and use offside trap but did more damage than good. Our back line is a mess. No coordination. Zero. I couldn’t believe my eyes how Man Utd unlocked Arsenal on demand and our players were simply, spectators. I don’t care who you bring in. That be Varane or someone better, he will get embarrassed like these guys are.
If Emery wants to stay he needs to take advantage of this free season and get the defending right. Bring coaches, bring Martin Keown. Just get this sorted before anything else.

Please. These guys on their day could beat anybody in the world. Maybe the defence isn’t on an elite level but it is good enough to at least do the job. Right now they’re in a ‘whoever comes in, gets a goal’ situation. That’s way below their abilities. If we took some care of our defending we would be celebrating a solid win today.

Honestly now, why bother bringing guys like Skriniar or Koulibaly in? They would get messed up after being trained and coordinated to the detail in Italy.

(For anyone who thinks about bringing up the Liverpool example of Virgil, I don’t care, that’s a one in a hundred where a player fires on all cylinders, granted this was under a coach who has proved in Dortmund he can absolutely defend and with a team in front hin that doesn’t even allow the opponent to get the ball to attack, like City does.)

What are you basing your claim that the defense could do the job on? There is virtually no evidence to support this statement.
