That’s a United group if I ever saw one.
Yeah, sadly they’ll probably get battered in that group. Would be quite hilarious though if they could miraculously somehow top that group, after City spent 100m on Grealish and PSG brought in Messi.
Not a fan of the group stages generally, usually snore fests, but there a few spicy groups there.
@Castiel trust those United bastards to somehow totally swerve being a part of any of those groups.
Sadly the dodgy BT Sport login I had for a couple seasons finally got locked down, so I probably won’t watch any of it.
Is it really that outlandish that a player who was a key midfielder in two European title victories (one for club and country) gets this award? It’s UEFA based and he was excellent in both UEFA tournaments I guess.
Who else would get it?
Football is dead.
Jorginho won an award oh dear
Weren’t there some on here moaning a few months ago that Jorginho on loan would be our midfield signing?
I think I was one of them, given the current reality I would like to revise my opinion on hindsight.
Probably revise my position on Neves too. If it meant Xhaka going.
Some of the CL groups are rather exciting, tough ones for City and Liverpool, expect all 4 English clubs to make the QF though as I have them and PSG/ Bayern as the 6 favs.
I’d rather have the guy who made Jorginho play like this and who turned that bender guy into a class DLP.
Jorginho played like this under Sarri and Mancini so it’s not like Tuchel is performing miracles. He’s just not brutally shit like Lampard was.
Almunia
Jesus Christ I forgot how fucking far out he was, devastating night, devastating goalkeeper.
I swear they scored that counter attack goal a 100 times against us. Never fucking learnt Wenger.
Every time I see any clip with Almunia’s luminous head even slightly in it it makes me really appreciate Xhaka’s leadership qualities.
Ronaldo again.
Bruno with the brilliant assist.
So so so many instances of Wenger persisting with something or someone for so long that cost us when even a small adjustment would have made a difference.
Almunia was our first choice keeper for what 5 seasons? Absolutely unforgivable. Guy was never even a top half premier league keeper. The decision to keep him as our first choice for so long is up there with no signing an outfield player in the summer where we signed Cech. Just ridiculous.
Wan-Bissaka sent off. United down to ten.
Worst part about Wenger retaining Almunia for so long was even a stop-gap goalkeeper would of been good enough for the time.
Some wanted Shay Given, some shouts for Mark Schwarzer. I preferred Jussi Jaaskelainen. Honestly some of the squad building decisions Wenger made back then…
The Ferguson staple of that era, push us out wide and counter attack.
Lmaoooooo
