UEFA Champions League

@shamrockgooner Shamrock Rovers youth product scoring in the champions league group phase.

A first?

Scales? He wasn’t a Rovers youth tbf. Can’t think of another ex rovers off hand who would have scored in the CL (specifically) though.

If Inter can be just a little bit more accurate in their passing during their counter-attacking, there’s plenty of space and plenty of willing runners.

They look like the non-shit Milan team. Hopefully they can replicate it in the second half.

Etihad atmosphere is so dead

De Bruyne off injured at HT?

 :xhaka:

Oh my days how do you not shoot there!?!

DARMIAN…what in the idiot

There’s been no goals except Celtic’s three against Slovan Bratislava. All the others still 0-0.

Inter are set up well but their decision making in the final third is just not smart. They’re so wasteful.

City 1-0 sneak win coming isn’t it.

Micky… ffs

I’m watching it to understand how they’ll set up against us.

Seems like they start by playing a mid-line and as the game progresses they move their defense higher and higher in order to suffocate the opposition.

They keep things pretty safe and pass you to death but will make risky passes and shots when inside the 18 yard box.

isn’t this our tactics when we had a full team?

If Nuno Mended wasn’t such a crock he would the best LB on the planet by a mile.

Celtic were excellent tonight

Slovan Bratislava looked absolute farmers

They have a very good manager and they’ve been benefitting from the work Marotta does behind the scenes building the squad on limited budget.

Also helps that Marotta has made two excellent managerial hires in Conte and then Inzaghi.

I wasn’t sure about Inzaghi but he has really stepped up at Inter.

I think we do a better job in our wing play. Plus we have one inverting and one overlapping fullback. One to overload the midfield and one to do the same on the right wing.

Inzaghi is a proper top coach
