N’Diaye and Kvara would be perfect replacements for Martinelli & Trossard

Disgusting in a bad way?

I remember people in here being very keen on Rogers not too long ago.

Rogers is good but it might be a bit too much of the same. First we’d have to sell Eze already to bring him in and then it’s another athlete over creation.

Think we’ll only get 1 big money signing this summer anyway so park Rogers.

I’m thinking two myself but I think one of them will be a midfielder and the other one will be a versatile forward.

That’s where names like Rogers, Gordon and Alvarez come in. I think they want some that can play across the front 3 or as a second striker.

Eze is probably safe for now. I think it’s Jesus, Trossard or Martinelli(in that order) that will be replaced.

Rogers and Gordon are ‘Barclaysmen’ in that they are PL level players but are not going to give this team any further X factor. Squad additions if you will. And we’ve padded the squad out a fair bit during the summer.

A one-in-one-put approach this summer is fine by me if we can improve on what goes out. Signing those guys are not going to add anything different to what we already have imo.

Doesn’t sound like we’re planning for many moves to be fair.

Fabrizio said a young fullback, midfielder and a forward.

Fullback probably takes MLS or White’s spot in defence.
Midfielder will probably take Norgaard’s spot.
Forward I presume will ideally take the spot of one Jesus, Trossard and Martinelli.

Whatever the case it’s clear that PL players are usually favoured. We’ve signed a PL player every single year Arteta has been here.
In fact if you go down to numbers, the PL market is the one we’ve shopped the most under Arteta, by some distance.

Yep, in a bad way. I’ve never liked Rogers and I don’t think he will be worth his price tag. Best suited to a freer role at a club like Villa, I don’t think he does well playing in a system like ours that will demand some rigidity.

I hated Gordon then warmed to him a bit but I don’t really think he’s hugely different to Martinelli in what he would offer us. He’s also a bit too ugly for the rest of the team.

White, Martinelli, Jesus out. In Kayode, Tonali and some random hipster Hungarian winger that @Trion has watched a few highlight videos of.

I’m in that camp, don’t like him either. Can’t stand his decision making.
I think who we go for may heavily depend on how their respective teams fair this season. Think that will discount Rogers as Villa should get a spot either via the league or EL.

Newcastle seem to be the team looking the least likely to secure a CL or even a European spot altogether.

Think we’re getting at least one player of theirs. I don’t think Newcastle will allow it because the optics will be awful but there is a chance we try to raid them for all of Livramento, Tonali and Gordon.

Axel Toth is already bought by Bournemouth unfortunately

You know Pietuszewski of Porto?

saw him on their lineup but didn’t see him play.
Loads of 17 year olds playing top flight football this season.

I agree, our attack is stacked with very good players but only Saka is at an elite level and Rodgers and Gordon would be similar to what we already have.

What we really want is a game changer like Kvara, although Tonali is decent as well.

If Chelsea don’t make champions league next season I think I’d tempt Joao Pedro with anywhere from 90 to 120mil.

Make that ~80m and I’m onboard.

Pedro is a good player but surely he isn’t the answer. I wanted Cunha and him last summer but both seem a similar level to Havertz. No thanks.

Who could be the answer?

That’s a good thing.

We need better. Havertz is in the good player category as are all out forwards bar Saka.

For me, it has to be somebody who either scores around 20 goals regularly or has a track record of performing at the highest level.

I’m a huge fan of Alvarez. Osimhen isn’t happening but I’d take him.
