Tony Adams

I try not to talk too much about Tony’s nonsensical flip-flop opinions.

Great player, iconic football figure for bot only Arsenal but English, that’s it though.

I do think Ton’ is onto something here. However, I think it’s more about results.

I don’t think we’ll get 6 points off Spurs and Chelsea and 4 points off Liverpool in the same season again, for example.

This exemplary record we have in London derbies won’t be repeated.

It’s not too outrageous a statement given that we’ve had good seasons in the past that we’ve not backed up.

He’s right on signing experience though.

Kante and Zaha available on frees :see_no_evil:

@Stroller

Again not one player signed by virtually anybody. Anybody predicting anything with certainty at this point is just being foolish.

this guy is sniffing glue or something, comparing us with friggin portsmouth.

Why is it so many of you triggered if someone in the media isn’t fawning over this side?
It doesn’t make an ounce of difference to us or our chances.
19 years without the title. Like it or not it’s not going away till you land it.
That’s the challenge and the doubts are part of it. Just accept it and get it done.

Haha so true.

Besides, if there’s anyone who can highlight our inadequacies, it’s Tone. He knows what it takes to win titles.

Yer da vibes

He’s right on the resilience thing. That City performance was a joke. Team turned up already defeated. Could of gotten the title race back on track with the right mindset right there.

Careful with that. It’s yer da vibes

Agreed that’s unlikely to be repeated.

To help balance it out we can’t be dropping 4 points to the bottom team, losing at Everton and getting dunked on by city twice every season.

I mean it’s hardly 80’s scytheball we’re losing to though is it. It’s been technical drivelball that has been dominating football for years and years now.
So on that point they just sound a bit old and outdated.

Our CB’s are plenty physical, so was Xhaka. We lost out on the title because we have a too thin squad and in Europe because of inexperience (both manager and players) imo, so the experience argument I agree with. Not much with the physical part.

To me he’s the most underrated CB in PL history. I know he’s in the PL hall of fame but he is rarely mentioned by fans or even former players when they talk about the greats. It’s always Terry, Ferdinand, Kompany and more recently VVD…
