Tbf, I haven’t seen any recent reports suggesting that, those were moreso around January-February when he was rather poor for Villa and it didn’t appear like Emery was very happy with him.
His form did improve but I wouldn’t say he’s been playing anything close to how he did in his first season or for Argentina.
He’s been having a hard time adjusting Emery trying to play out from the back. Weirdly, he got good at it before he left us but he isn’t showing it anymore.

On Castagne, I don’t see how he’ll cost anything but a nominal fee. The dude wasn’t even started for them. He was a utility player for them that could play various positions.
Leicester will be desperate to balance the books, they’ve got a midtable PL squad that was competing in Europe 18 months ago and are now gonna play in Championship.
Started all but one game last season…

Shit, you’re right, he started all but two games this season. It was the previous season he wasn’t really a starter.

Even the previous years he started the vast majority of matches that he was available, he just had some injuries.
Championship full backs go for 15m plus. No way does Belgian international Castagne, who has played in Europe for Atalanta, go for a nominal fee and as David Hillier mentioned he played every game but one last season.
Tavares should fetch 15m and Castagne should get more than that.

Transfermarkt has him at €28m. 2 years to go on his contract. What we don’t know is whether he has a relegation release-clause or whether he doesn’t have relegation wage drop (hence they want rid) or if he has asked to leave of course. So maybe £20-£25m is in the ballpark.
Imagine if he was announced first!

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if we find out that Leicester’s squad didn’t have any relegation clauses in their contracts.
