He isn’t why we lost today though. Odegaard was our worst midfielder.
Maybe I’ll get there tomorrow and I’m certainly not discounting how good Partey’s been all season. But it’s really frustrating to have the lynchpin of our midfield turn in a shit sandwich away to a bad West Ham team. Same goes for Saka, Odegaard, and the rest of them.
People have agendas every which way. Odegaard has had 150posts since Liverpool as has other players. Before my post Partey had one post since Liverpool which was praising him…. Bit strange considering he’s supposed to be our most important player and was not playing well in either game.
Plus we were failing specifically at controlling games which Partey has to shoulder responsibility for otherwise wtf is he in the team for?

EDIT: How many posts did Xhaka get with people saying he cost us the game vs Liverpool for squaring up to Trent. Well here we have a mistake which directly led to a goal and to call him out is having an agenda

He was the only midfielder getting any sort of challenge in it that game for me.

Partey has consistently been our best, most influential player and when he doesn’t play, the team miss him more than anyone else, so buying more players like him should be a priority.
Although the performances against Liverpool and West Ham weren’t great, perhaps it will have shown the board that we need strengthening.
If we are serious about challenging the big clubs for the title, we need more players like Partey and fewer like Holding and Xhaka because if we’re serious about competing with the big clubs, we need to strengthen the limited squad we have.
