Last 3 months he really has been one of the best midfielders in the league and I love to see it. The main Ghanaian.
The state of these two coming from La Liga and making the EPL look like the farmers league
Look at us, wearing pre match warmup kit, match jersey and then post match interview white tshirt.
I wonder if Chelsea can do that
Odegaard’s English is really good
Is that surprising?
Norwegians speak English very very well. I’ve been to Norway and Sweden and the level they speak English is as good as I find on a day to day actually being in England lol
yeah, the level of efficiency, the crispness in his pronunciations is definitely surprising considering he has only spent 1 year in England.
Unless Norwegians are good at English, which is not something I am aware of
Scandis all seem to speak perfect English
Most of the population speaks English iirc, just checked yeah it’s 90%
they’re alright. Swedes are better
:ramsdale:
I’ve got friends from Norway and they’re more articulate in their second language than most English PL players are in their first language.
Although Harry Kane probably brings that average down by quite a bit.
Xhaka on Partey
After a slow start, Thomas Partey has now established himself as a pivotal figure at Arsenal, according to team-mate Granit Xhaka.
The Ghanaian international, 28, nodded in the Gunners’ opener in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Leicester that moved them back into fourth place in the Premier League.
The goal topped off a week where Partey was named the club’s Player of the Month for February, winning the award for the first time in his Emirates spell.
And it is a choice that Swiss star Xhaka, 29, feels was fully merited.
Xhaka said: "He [Partey] criticised himself very hard I think [earlier in the season], but he’s fit, he’s healthy, he’s so important for us.
"You can see his qualities without the ball, with the ball and everything starts from him. Not only on the pitch, but off the pitch as well.
“He’s a lovely guy, a guy who helps the young people a lot and I’m enjoying being a part of the midfield with him.”
Have we had a more press resistant CM since Santi? He just looks so calm and always looks to receive the ball in positions where he can be pressed very quickly
I remember having to defend multiple times that he was actually a press resistant player. I can’t think of a more talented player we’ve ever had that took people so long to warm to.
Honestly it was only Fitness and a desire to pass between the lines and try to progress the ball that made him look sloppy. I could always see ample quality on the ball, but I feel like people were scapegoating him but his first season was heavily interrupted by fitness issues and a difficult midfield composition.
He’s obviously improved exponentially but I don’t think he deserved even close to the criticism he was getting. It’s why I hate the price tag discussion with players like him because £45-50m is not a lot of money - that’s what United paid for Fred and close to what they paid for an aged Matic so it’s not actually mega money and doesn’t buy you a world class midfielder. In our case it fucking did though lol
I wonder if you ask Odegaard if Partey has been shit for us for the majority of his time here what might he have to say lol.
Don’t think our man Odegaard does what he does without that brick wall of a man looking for him with every forward pass.
This man is precious and deserves to be protected at all cost
Deserves a better team imo, could almost start for any side in the world I reckon.
