Thomas Partey (5)

Has made far fewer mistakes than Raya, Saliba, Odegaard.

These lot give the ball away for fun as of late.

Nah mf has upped his game - new contract time :rofl:

They must be certain that his legal issues are behind him

The investigation has been going on for years, if they had anything concrete the police would have acted by now

Partey has been one of our best and most consistent players so why sell him?

Wouldn’t be a case of selling him, he’s out of contract this summer.

It would leave us very short at the 6 position if we would let him go.
Firstly, I’m still pretty sure he’s a better player than Zubi, but even if Arteta plans to have Zubi as the first option (most likely) he will probably need some time to adapt.

Rice is the first choice, and the only decent left 8, we have atm. He can’t cover that while he has to play his primary role. And who is left, Skelly?

I wouldn’t feel very confident about out midfield if we let Partey go. Unless Zubi hits the ground running straight away, dominates right from the start, but I don’t see it.

Even as one of his biggest fan I was fully onboard with letting him go but it sounds like he and his family are fairly settled in London.

This is incredibly similar to the Jorginho situation last year with the main difference being that Partey can still go physically as he’s shown this season.
A 1+1 deal on more reasonable wages would be perfect. It gives us a season to bed in Zubimendi, and it keeps Partey motivated to perform for his next contract.

I think it would be a very smart move to have Partey still at Arsenal. He had a reasonably good season and would provide valuable depth once we add new additions in midfield that will need time to gel.

Injuries last season have shown you need depth on bench and a big squad to go through the whole season with so much fixtures in the calendar year.

Wow very positive.

OA must be the only place that’s actually happy with his renewal.

Elec isn’t :joy:

Yeah? Are most gooners elsewhere not?

Let’s just say it’s best not to check the replies when there’s an update on Partey.
Sometimes the author had to mute the replies, it was that bad.

Ornstein had to do so himself when he first broke the news about us trying to extend his deal.

I don’t have a twitter account, and Musk decided that means I can’t see replies.

For some reason, I assumed people weren’t happy on a football level, I’m now realising it’s obviously not that.

Plenty of replies to that tweet above suggesting he’s a mid footballer as well.

Tbh the replies on this one aren’t really mentioning the case. One or two I could see that’s all.
