Nothing that doesn’t happen all the time I don’t think, he just got caught. Extra obvious because he got pushed and still reached for the block.
Fair enough to give a pen, thought it was originally on Cala who was also dancing with a PSV player.

I think that may be one of the reasons behind our decision not to offer him a new contract.
If it wasn’t for Rice, he’d be my MOTM.
One word. Imperious.
Didn’t put a foot wrong. Get him signed up.
Yup. His best season for us.
31 years old, where’s my sale value on the spreadsheet that’s more important than having good players.
Did once and I thought we were in trouble but he immediately recovered.
Might’ve been one of his best performances here.
Steps up in the biggest games.
He has to be extended. Fuck zubimendi.
This guy is and always has been world class. Of all seasons he remains fully fit, it had to be this one lol
So glad that guy doesn’t post here anymore lol
Knew you’d get the reference
So glad this thread was bumped up.
Partey was immense in midfield. His quality and experience really set the composed tempo.
I know his situation is complex (for obvious reasons) but if you want depth and a full squad to compete for PL, you need experience/quality combo like Partey starting and coming of the bench.
I really hope he doesn’t leave he’s better than anyone that we buy to replace him
Enjoy him while you can. He is gone in the summer. Zubimendi is the real deal, and alongside Rice, we are going to have a world class midfield next season.
Partey played better tonight than Zubimendi ever has when I have watched him
I actually think Zubimendi could be a top signing but Partey’s career has been sublime tbh absolute beast. Tonight was imperious against world class midfielders. I really thought Valverde and Bellingham might be a step too far at this stage of his career but no he bossed it. The agendas Joshua and Invincibles have been running on this bloke have always been ridiculous.
I really wouldn’t say I have an agenda against Partey…I was delighted when we signed him and think overall he has been an excellent signing for us. This is turning into his best season for us, but the injuries have meant that he hasn’t helped us achieve what we could of in past seasons. I do think he has a mistake in him, and some of these have been costly, but increasingly it’s clear his slow build up play from the base of our midfield is a problem. The team is evolving under Arteta and Partey is a product of his time. We should celebrate and enjoy his performances for the rest of the season and then say goodbye in the summer.
Disagree.
If he has been capable of staying fit this season and capable of providing this Arsenal team with consistent, high quality performances, the club has to keep him. Even if he remains a bit-part figure like Jorgi has this season for us, that’s an unreal depth option.
Bringing in Zubimendi is fine and it makes sense from an age perspective to be handing over the keys to someone 6 years younger but he’ll no doubt need some time to get up to speed playing for us. Having Partey in the wings to aid that process is a no brainer for me.
but increasingly it’s clear his slow build up play from the base of our midfield is a problem
What?
That’s literally his best quality and everyone who plays there in stead of him is slower than him, even Jorgi who is closest, and that will be the hardest quality to replace when Partey leaves imo.
But yeah, I think we should keep either him or Jorgi, Partey being the more realistic option both because all the Jorgi-Brazil links and their age/fitness. Partey still looks very sharp physically and unless there are some other issues around still ( ) keeping him would be a no brainer.
