Is it really worth signing Zubimendi rather than giving him a year extension and playing MLS in midfield?

Think it is always worth bringing quality in. I wouldnāt rather Zubimendi in our team than the general though.
Weāll never know but weād have more points if we played Partey in midfield instead of forcing him in at right back.

He has been seriously good this season. Never saw that coming tbh.

Hopefully with White returning from injury shortly and Timber playing well there we wonāt need to use him at RB as those two will be rotated.

Mind you, he was our best midfielder. 
Had me seething seeing him get by players with ease and then seeing Sterling run straight at players.

I thought he was quite good as well. Made a few mistakes but still tried to move the ball forward with purpose. With Ode having a shocking season, Partey has become even more important to us.
Problem with Partey is his consistency. Has had some amazing games this season, but against Leicester, yet again, his concentration dropped and gave them a real chance. Against better teams we could have been punished for that.
Personally, Iād sooner us keep Jorginho over Partey next season, if we sign Zubimendi, but if Jorginho leaves in the summer, Iād only be ok with keeping Partey if he takes a massive drop in salary and accepts he is 3rd choice midfielder.
Partey is levels above Zubimendi. Would be ridiculous if he comes in and replaces our best midfielder

Rice is our best midfielder. Partey isnāt the player he was, but I accept he is still able to deliver a top performance. He is very inconsistent now though, and thatās a problem.
Zubimendi is exceptional. Iām looking forward to being acknowledged as his No.1 fan on this forum, if he signs. If he doesnāt I may have a breakdown.

I thought that sequence was a mistake from both him and Timber actually. And in the end I was actually more mad on Timber because Partey was trying to track back and cover for it while Timber looked like he gave up and was just strolling back.
Anyway, I also disagree that he hasnāt been consistent. Heās been one of our most consistent players and I think most would have him as our best midfielder this season as well.

I still see Partey as our best midfielder and arguably our best player. He had a few poor moments but his quality on the ball is marvellous.

Poor yesterday, but I can count his poor to average displays in midfield this season on one hand - and have fingers left.
Heās critical for Champions League games. Needs to be retained. Zubi can replace Jorginho
