Thomas Partey (5)

I’d be surprised if Caicedo is available by the time Partey gets sold(if he gets sold).

Unless the discussions are more advanced than we’ve heard, it doesn’t sound like any team is really close to signing him at the minute.

He’s going.

60M please lads. Pretend he’s a Chelsea player

Shame to lose him after his best season in an Arsenal shirt. Our midfield will be much weaker without him now; even with Rice coming as his replacement.

I think given the choice, id rather keep Thomas

No point in ripping it all up to start again, it just comes down to how much the bid could be

2 years left and 30 years old, it may be to good to turn down

I am anticipating a formation/tactic change from Arteta for the upcoming season - I trust Arteta/Edu to make the right decisions with this.

Body blow, our best CM and a top 3 CM in the league still.

Longterm he’d had have to be replaced anyways, but it makes a title next season more difficult.

How would that be the best window we’ve ever seen?

Rice and caicedo isn’t even an upgrade on Xhaka and Partey. At best it’s the same just younger.

We paid 45m for Partey and he’s shown to be world class when on form. Given the fees these days he should be 75m regardless of just turning 30. Look at Casemiro, Partey’s better, younger and on lower wages.

What window was better?

Surely we should chill a bit given we’ve done nothing as of yet. Promise is just promise.

Oh of course

Im usually the one saying that to my mates, dont believe anything until its announced on AFCi

The noise and rumours are all going the right direction though, the quality of player has taken a step or two up the ladder. We’re looking for first team players from this league, no transition time, no settling required. Buy, integrate and go.

Edu and Mikel are working wonders.

Rice, Gundogan, Caicedo and Lavia?
With all due respect @Invincibles, the fuck are you smoking?

Im lapping up everything the rumour mill wants to give me

Bring it on

Well that would mean Xhaka and Partey both leaving (really bad) and about 350m spent to marginally improve the midfield and a good improvement in defence.

Wouldn’t class it as that amazing personally. Exciting in terms of big transfers sure.

Yes, thats more what I meant, if Partey was to leave then we have to replace, plus bring in the extras we were already planning to bring it

I personally dont see Xhaka and Partey leaving as really bad, so long as we recruit correctly and replace them

But isn’t that a plus by itself? Replacing two guys who were not suited for the position and struggled with fitness respectively with guys who are younger and still have room to improve is the whole game.

An amazing set of midfielders who should take us to the next level, however, they still have to all click and ease well into Arteta’s new formation for 23/24.

Yeah that’s why I mentioned it but I don’t think quality wise in the short term it’s as good, so rounds out about a net 0 for me right now.
