That argument was always faulty. Chelsea was the pioneer in that example but everyone omits that it was a squad still full of quality that had a Mourinho meltdown on a tremendous scale. Oh and that Conte was a pretty good coach.

One positive about having Arteta is that he’ll be demanding Pep levels of squad depth from Edu / Josh.
By the time we get to September, not having Partey available should not derail our season. It can’t.

We need better solutions for this situation, both in terms of personnel and tactics.
The solution can’t be simply to find a backup that can do everything Partey can do in the exact same system, because that is a hard player to find and a guy like that won’t be happy as a backup.

remember when he was played right off the flight back from Africa vs Pool, got red carded and then we sucked the next game as well (don’t remember against who). January or early Feb I think. Some debatable man management going on tbh.
Even if we get into the EL, I’d still be expecting an upgrade on Xhaka and another CM to prevent us from being in such a precarious situation like this one.
I think we all assumed the worst when he got injured, this news doesn’t surprise. We love an injured star at Arsenal.
