The State of The Arsenal

Not even an excellent league stage performance could convince this club in January to try and give everything to compete for their first ever Champions League.

In this competition can’t lay any blame on the manager or the players. Hoping for a miracle but reality is in this shape it’s hard to even back us for a goal against a side like PSV.

The summer and next season have to be something extremely special to justify abandoning the season like this. So frustrating.

Not sure wtf’s going on but I’m posting and it stays looped on saving without posting.

Anyway I’ll try again. More than happy to be admit I was wrong to doubt our attacking threat tonight. We ripped PSV to shreds and played like a totally different side than the one we’ve see week on week in England. Hopefully this gives the team enormous confidence. While PSV were atrocious it’s performances like tonight where the Champions League dream stays alive despite absolutely no backing from the board.

Challenging for CL didn’t have to be such a pipe dream given we’ve performed well in this tournament but no reinforcements is asking a hell of a lot. But they’re still going after it and gave fans reasons to cheer again. Just have to hope for no more injuries while we manage to get 1 or 2 back later.

Some others on here still haven’t admitted all season where they got it wrong but hey :man_shrugging:

Who’s they? Us or the board?

OA but that one’s pointless to debate right now. Domestic form can go to one side. The European dream is everything now.

Hang on, hang on, you can’t say that and not expect people to follow it up.

Aren’t most in agreement that we botched the last window?

And others praise the squad for being title ready at the start of the season and then completely backflip on that and proceed to shit on everyone else as though they had that new view from the very start. :eyes:

It wasn’t about the window it was around the supposed crediting/disrespect of Liverpool this season alongside the title race etc. Not the night to be getting into it.

Its a fucking Arsenal forum mate. Off to RAWK with you if you want to see the level of respect you think they deserve being paid.

Liverpool are garbage

Deleted as I did say shouldn’t get into that tonight…

In 20 minutes it’ll be a new day so…

I do wish the media would let us enjoy winning a match like this rather than baiting fans into kneejerk reactions.

There seems to be a rhetoric around arsenal specifically that because we probably aren’t going to win anything that we should enjoy the games we win or thta they even remotely matter.
If that’s the case what should the other club below us do, just give up?

Man U and spurs already have. :grinning:

But I still think we could win the CL, which would really confuse the media, after saying we’re not going to win anything.

Chances of the club signing 3 attackers? Feel like we need a new CF and two wingers minimum lol, but just can’t see it happening.

Martinelli and Trossard just aren’t it at all.

Either one are fine as a backup but not both.

I think Martinelli has more potential to be unlocked and can return to being useful with a better LCM playing him in.

He also gives a threat in behind which we lack otherwise. Trossard is the one to get rid of.

We need signings, but if we don’t change how we approach stuff forget it changing much.

Every team that defends deep is giving us problems.

Nothings really changed. LW and ST needed. Saka to come back.

Odegaard is a problem. He offers so little of a goal threat.

2 points from the last 3 games is embarrassing.

If anything, this season has been a full exposé of our attacking personnel beyond Saka.

Breaking down deep blocks like the ones we face is hard for all teams, not just us. Difference between us and other top teams is that they have a couple players who can change the game in an instant. We’ve only got Saka really and Nwaneri has shown promise but he’s still not there yet(and understandably so given his experience so far).
