The State of The Arsenal

I think it’s too bold of a move even for Mikel, that’s be almost saying to Martinelli and Trossard that they rate this guy who they didn’t even really want to sign, over them both.

Likely to me Martinelli will be back in, Jesus will still be out and Trossard up front. Sterling will feature off the bench.

I’d be surprised if it’s not Havertz in CM but you have got the option for Jorginho. Ironically ESR would’ve been the best replacement for Rice with Merino injured.

Partey is finished and Rice isn’t a 8, that’s a big problem right there.

Even though he’s not the profile at like to see at the 8 spot, it a shame about Merino.

I thought I was jumping the gun by being down on him after Villa and Wolves, but yesterday just confirmed that he’s cooked.

Idk how Mikel watches the tape from the goal and trusts him again.

lol what the fucks he gonna do then drop Saliba, Gabriel, Raya, Timber and Partey ?

  • Saliba caught out of position
  • Gabriel weak ass attempt to tackle
  • Raya probs the least to blame of the lot but pushes it right back into the striker
  • Timber ball watching even more than Partey
  • Partey fell asleep tracking the scorer

Last week Saliba and Gabriel also fell asleep watching Watkins score only for Raya to bail them out. Didn’t see you comment this then

Even if you think Partey has been performing well, I’m not a fan of completely banishing Jorginho into the backgroung while he was performing so good last season.

Should get a start soon, especially with Merino out, Rice suspended next game… Partey isn’t fit/athletic enough these days anyway to start constantly.

No, I didn’t because both those guys have credit in the bank and aren’t in clear physical decline. I think Partey is.

His form dipped a lot in the final stretch of last season and trams figured out how to exploit him.
Don’t think it was personal, Partey is just better currently.

Well the stats show he’s performing pretty much in line with Tchouameni (24) and Gravenberch (22) so far this season, so I think he’s just fine.

Eye test tells a different story

It’s funny how negative the outlook has been since the draw.
Team wasn’t impressive in either of the first two matches, both of those games could’ve gone bad had it not been for Raya.
What exactly changed?

We’ve challenged City in back-to-back seasons and have been improving every single season under Arteta.
We’ve lost quite a bit of depth from last season but none of our key players have left, majority of our team haven’t even entered their peak years(relative to their position), and on top of it 3 of our new signings have the capacity to start for us.

Remember, it all looked hopeless back in January after losing 3 back to back games against West Ham, Fulham and Liverpool and then we followed that up with one of the greatest runs we’ve seen in the PL.

Exactly. I’m completely and utterly chill about everything.

Of course they do, your eyes already decided what they will see before the season started lol.

I love Odegaard but he’s actually performed worse than Partey this season, yet again no mention, White also hasn’t been at his best. I got it you wanted Partey gone and therefore will find anything to pick him up on to reiterate that view.

I hate that we have to wait 2 weeks after what happened yesterday to get the next game underway. It doesn’t help that it’s the NLD too.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say our squad depth and injury status didn’t worry me but to maintain a reach on the pack we can’t be dropping more than 2 points over the next couple games. Huge September for us.

Fucking hell guys we’ve played 3 games there’s a long way to go yet

Same gameweek last year we drew with that late Fulham goal no? Cost us the title

Where are all the people that predicted us to win the league let alone this strange looking champions league?

This is true, but we’re in a tetchy spot.

We could be 8 points behind top spot in the worst case scenario if we don’t get the business done at City and Spurs.

Though our record away from home is almost perfect so we could also be top by then too.

I don’t think there is any need to be negative after the first three games. We would have won easily yesterday, had it not been for the referee. We got a great result at Villa and first game was solid. We can still go to Spurs and get a result. All the players will be up for it.

Again, two players with plenty of credit in the bank.

Apart from being injured, does Partey not have ‘credit in the bank’?
