The Starting XI under Emery

Think we’ve had enough games to have a rough idea of what the best team would be going forward. Obviously line ups should always change dependent on the opposition but for me - this is our best XI this season:

                      Cech 

    Bellerin - Holding - Sokratis - Monreal

                 Toreira - Xhaka

             Iwobi    - Ozil -  Laca 

                    Aubameyang

Yes, this feels like the best set-up at the moment. If only Iwobi could add some more goals to his game. But I guess that also counts for Auba and arguably Laca, at the moment.

Yeah I tend to agree with the squad we have that 11 is probably our strongest starting 11.

Good shout OP.

Can’t argue with Iwobi’s form and he is undroppable at the moment. But in the scope of the season I still suspect Mkhitaryan/Ramsey on the right would balance us out more.

The Laca/Auba situation’s a bit difficult because Aubameyang has been below par at holding the ball up and playing with his back to goal. Lacazette offers you everything whereas Aubameyang is a specialist at one aspect of play really.

It’s also interesting to see if the double defensive pivot of Xhaka-Torreira will hold a firm grip on things. Ramsey could still find his way in to that pivot.

Ramsey should be benched he just doesn’t fit this team and is ruining the balance
