I know plenty of people who live there and I have visited twice. There are plenty of Muslims living well off as well in Moscow.

I find Russians to be among the most hospitable people.
There’s a lot of things western countries shouldn’t necessarily turn a cold shoulder to. In Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kenya, China, and other countries. They do though. After all elected representatives are supposed to represent those people in Michigan and Leeds, and use their money to support what those people want, focusing on their quality of life.
What did they do in Syria? Help Assad defend against foreign infested jihadi rebel groups? Who fights in the Syrian army? Mostly Syrians no? Who fights for ISIS? A few Syrians and many many foreign jihadis from England, Holland, France etc.
If I remember correctly it was America assassinating an Iranian top general. On IRAQI territory.
Nobody bats an eye at that blatant violation of Iraqi sovereignty.

I spoke to a few Syrian refugees in Vienna. And most fled for the indiscriminate murdering done by ISIS and al qaeda affiliated groups.
Ask those Yazidis, Assyrians, Christians, Druze, alawites and Kurds if they prefer Assad or these jihadis who destroyed their families and in the case of Yazidi almost exterminated them.
My stance is that a membership in NATO for Sweden now would provoke dictator Putin even more. Not as much as if Finland joined, but still. We are not far off a membership since all our arms are compatible with NATO standards already and we pay a lot of money to exercise with other NATO countries. Our airforce that is the one thing Putin fears from us use NATO load outs for example. On top of that we produce and export a high amount of valued weaponry to NATO countries.
Only thing to stop this fucking disgusting dictator is a rise-up/revolution from within Russia itself. If the right amount of troops threaten his power on his home soil, then he would abandon Ukraine in an instance.

I do hope some lost people regarding Putin are awakened regarding this though. He said he wasn’t going to invade Ukraine and he did. Similarly, this is not good for Zelensky who kept on protesting that nothing would happen until the last few days. These are indisputable facts we can all agree on, outside the subjective stuff.
Putin isn’t a good guy. He’s a dictator. Military assets on his border though is similar to friction with the Chinese Dictatorship when THAAD is installed in nearby countries. You have to know what are the likely responses and be prepared with the chess. Anyone saying the chess was properly thought out by western “elites” involving themselves in Ukraine has to be crazy. We are now in this situation, and with massive war fatigue already.
The bottom line is our foreign policy and national security is run by “elites” who are incompetent clowns, and likely corrupt. That is all. We can’t trust these people, they have a track record of multiple decades of failure.
With that, I’m out of here for now.
