The randomly nothing thread

Right?
The fact that you have to tell people about it actually shows how insecure you are about it.

This is why I dropped off IG and have never used Twitter.

Got so tired of people bragging and promoting themselves and the stress/self-esteem issues it can cause.

Like how shallow is your life if you have to get off on making everyone feel bad about how much better your life looks?

If I’ve got get any bragging to do I do it in my WhatsApp groups with my mates or on here :joy:

I actually don’t mind if you wanna big yourself up if you’re a success. Why you need to do this by bringing everyone else down is beyond me. Not exactly a nice thing to do is it.

Tbh most 23 year olds ain’t the way she’s described.

Most of the 23 year olds I knew were in the second bracket (without the starting a new business bit)

They would also brag, like her, lol. I’ll put it down to youthful exuberance.

I was of an opinion that it’s time to dissociate from social media but no, Social media does more good than harm though and lately I only see criticism towards it.

Facebook has brought together people, created new business avenues and tons of peeps generate loads of leads off social media, dogs are adopted or united with their owner, Women have been able to reach more people & report abuse, Loneliness is mitigated to a large extent, creativity is at its peak, more content to consume, more people with knowledge are able to educate, more exposure to world news, people have received great job offers, amazing stories are created.

I am glad that social media exist and we have to moderate or live with its cons.

There are positive things from it tbh but like the web in general the downside is massive.
However issues like being discussed above are on the individual.
It’s easy to avoid really.

Social media creates a lot of problems, but it also has the power to produce incredible interactions like this. Sensational.

I think social media has produced a net positive for society but not by a huge margin.

Most of the stuff you mentioned is pretty surface level.

I disagree.

Just look at the economic influence of social media.
You have Digital Marketing as a new field created because of social media.
Every firm has hired an individual or outsourced it to an agency to handle their social media presence.
Increase in number of projects for designers, content writers, video editors, voice over artists.
Social media influencers may be the laughing stocks but people are making a living out of it. Some are making a lucrative living.
Lateral business ventures are created which augment social media.

I don’t deny SM is a very useful tool that has to lead to the creations of billions and opportunities but to me this pretty surface level stuff.

Things like the nature of public discourse and more broadly the “human experience” are deeper elements that have greater effect on an individual. SM has tainted both to some extent

Cmon man. You can come up with an insult better than that which doesn’t involve calling her a “dumb bitch”

There are so many more creative ways to insult her.

Seems like we hit the jackpot for the best weather happening on Good Friday. Absolutely glorious day for a walk!

Just realised I’ve got 18k posts on this forum in just under 5 years, all in all about 25k posts in just under 7 years if you count the old setup, fair to say I probably spend too much time on here.

I’m sitting at just over 11k posts. Can’t remember my total from the last OA but it was under 10k. So I’m probably around 20k in 17 years which isn’t too bad haha.
