The randomly nothing thread

I may end up working more than 7 hours a day sometimes, so if it means I can have an extra day off for doing the same hours, I’m all for it.

Now offices won’t go back to how they were pre pandemic.

Doing a 4 day week with increased hours to cover Friday and seperating it by doing 2 in the office and 2 in the house would actually be great and something I’d support fully haha

Absolutely, I’d say I tend to do at least 3.5 hours extra every week anyway, I’m already half way there lol

I’ve done it, it’s a doddle. You don’t even notice the extra hours after a little while.

“Nothing”

I’d imagine an argument for not doing this would that taking Friday off the work calendar too might have a really bad effect on businesses in the city centres - like in the catering trade & would probably also mean less money for public transport.

It’s unfathomable and pretty far-fetched to start switching to a 4 day working week anyway. Two sectors come to mind immediately that simply cannot do this- healthcare and hospitality.

Besides, if someone said to me that I am now being forced to only work a 4 day week instead of 5 and someone else was coming in my place to work the fifth day, I’d feel resentment and wholly disappointed.

I’ve been working 4 days a week since 2014. Absolutely love it. Extra long weekend.

My company lets you finish 3 hours early on a Friday if you work 3 hours over in the week. Probably the best perk I’ve had. Even if it’s only 3 hours it still feels like nearly a 3 day weekend since I’m done by 12:30-13:00.

Especially now that I work from home full time, having some daylight time to not be at home is very valuable.

Love this concept

had to take a covid test at one of those walk in centres this morning, most likely it will be positive because I’ve never felt this bad in my life, hit me like a brick on new years eve night

Tough too avoid in your line of work mate. Take it easy and just start isolating now.
