I saw recent pics of him and saw how slim he was, hoped it was for a role. Was an excellent actor and seemed he was just getting started.

Rest in Power, King.

Yeah, she was a cracker in the sixties/seventies. IIRC, she was known as ā€˜the thinking man’s crumpet’ - now there’s a quaint old phrase. Great actress. R.I.P.

Back in 1980/1981 I was a member of Cheam Cricket Club, we were at the time, a very decent club and used to always have Surrey 2nd eleven players down playing for us…Just after Alan Minter won his world title he came into the club one Saturday night, I don’t know if he lived nearby, or just knew someone there, but he turned up about 7pm…He had his newly won world championship belt with him, and feck me, he could drink…we ended up absolutely hammered in a cricket club pavilion at 3 in the morning, wondering who we were, where we were, and how the feck did we get here…

He was a fabulous fighter, and more importantly, a fantastic man…RIP Alan…

Devastating loss for progressives. But as many have said, the fact that a lot of us were banking on the continued health of an 80-something year old to make sure (among other things) women still had access to abortion services demonstrates how broken the US political system is.

I’m sure the GOP will force a replacement through confirmation prior to the election. The most frightening part is that any Trump appointed replacement will all but guarantee the end of abortion rights in the US.

They have to make an appointment. The upcoming election will be contested, whatever the result.

And then what happens if the Supreme Court ends up voting on a 4-4 split?

Mitchie in ā€˜16 stonewalled a hearing due to an election year. The hypocrisy should be evident at this point.

The democracy experiment in America is rapidly coming to an end. Never thought fascism would be cheered on.

Fascism is always cheered on, because the people cheering don’t realise it’s fascism.

Oh the irony of that statement .

Did you know that during world war 2 Stalin and Hitler said they were fighting fascists :+1:t5:

Is the house involved in confirming supreme court picks?

Or are the Dems in the mud?
