The Labour Party

When can we drop if from our sleeve?

At least without the policy I wonā€™t have to be like this every time I notice the sleeve patch:

When the money runs out, maybe.

Not to get too excited about it because they have to go and actually make some positive impact now but my inclination is to take encouragement from the first few days of this new government.

Some of the appointments are very interesting and with over 400 to chose from heā€™s still gone outside that to appoint people like James Timpson into briefs they actually give a shit about doing something about.

Some positive noises on the legacy bill and re-establishing the relationship with Dublin. Same sort of noises about the devolved governments too. (Too soon for the EU, but letā€™s not rule it out)

Overall, it just feels like the UK is once again being run by people who actually give a shit about doing so. So hopefully thatā€™s how it all plays out.

Iā€™m very jealous you all (the Brits here, not Sham) pulled this off.

I really want to believe weā€™ll be in the same position come December.

Starmer deserves alot of credit for steering the party towards power after the disastrous Corbyn years. His strategy since taking over has been totally vindicated.

Def looks the part so far

It does feel like the adults are back in charge.

I mean they canā€™t really have a much easier time right now. They could appoint the local corner shop owner or a bin man as defence secretary and still be more stable than what weā€™ve been watching for years.

Letā€™s see any real change get enacted and how it pans out. Energy a big one for me but think thatā€™ll be lower down the list and take a while to draw up.

Easy to drop that stupid Rwanda bill, interesting to see what they replace it with.

Hopefully these mandatory local housebuilding targets take into consideration of local infrastructure. The Tories didnā€™t which is why they lost control of many councils.

Would be great to actually allow people to buy these properties because they plan to live in them.

Rather than the common approach of allowing foreign entities swallow them up.

I think there needs to be restrictions on how homes are sold in order to address the housing crisis.

Too many airbnbs, rent to rents and shit like that just driving up rent across the country.

Absolutely. The developers might like rich cunts and corporations buying up all the property but places like the UK and Ireland where there has been decades of that now need a break from it so people might be able to afford them.

Would be amazing if Labour actually pursues a more hardline approach with Israel. Would be a complete 180 from the shit Starmer was spewing in the build up to the election.

I think theyā€™ll stick 100% with what international law says.

Because then itā€™s not an opinion, itā€™s just the law.
