He won’t play the Open mate, you can breath easy.

You heard anything?

The media are reporting it like it’s a matter of when not if he gets deported sadly.

Although I don’t know the legality around challenging that decision in court should it take place.

Surely has to be today if they’re going to do it.

Let’s see if they have the stones

So apparently Rafa tested positive on Dec 20 and arrived in Aus Dec 31…

Some are stating others haven’t been allowed to enter Australia for 14 days after infection

Thought there would be a “world is watching” consideration with the government there because it is a pretty big moment for the sport in general with three players all equal on 20 grand slam tournament wins.

French open will be huge.

It’s simple, Rafa is loved by everyone, Djokovic isn’t.

On a more serious note, why the hell does Djokovic give the world so many reasons to hate him. This whole situation with the Aussie Govt could have been handled better. Him blaming his agent for messing up the initial paper work, then him admitting to being irresponsible and that isn’t a first with him. Let’s not forget, he held a tournament during the first wave and got himself and others infected.

They still haven’t made a decision on Goatkovic

He’s in the draw. They’re cutting it fine on decision time.

You not been watching the last 10 years? :stuck_out_tongue:

This thread set for a record amount of posts today then.

It was never in doubt.

The decision of veto is made by someone that is a part of the federal government he defeated in court.

As if it was going to go any other way lol.

Be like standing a murder trial in court, losing a case but your best mate has veto powers ri overrule any decision :joy:.

So what’s the Australian law here? Is a 3 year ban likely?

That’s meant to be the protocol.

I think it’s a moot point though, as I’ve always thought irrespective of what happened this will be Novak’s last time here after the last week.

Hopefully we lose the Grand Slam also after the fiasco of the last 7 days.

Was it not the state government he beat last time? :hipster:

Nope.

The Victorian state government and Tennis Australia are the ones that granted the medical exemptions to players.

Basically it just boils down to a nation that has imposed mandatory vaccination on its people they’re trying to save face.

But the bonus for our government is they’ve got the community believing Djokovic is the bad guy, not them for coercion of its own people.

This guy is really pushing the vaccine. Keeps mentioning this.
