Really cool to see, the entire national road way should be placed an an AI grid for rapid automation.
The end goal would ideally to see a mass roll out of driverless taxis in the UK to the point personal car ownership is largely unnecessary within the next 20 years for most cities and towns, but that’s doubtful with have the energy or infrastructure issues in the UK.
More human jobs at risk. People should boycott the driverless taxi but I’m sure the allure of saving a couple of quid will overrule sense.
Not if you have to import drivers from other countries.
To maintain a fleet of taxi drivers, in current era, you have to maintain a society where a segment of population is poor enough to become taxi drivers and when there’s not enough of them, you end up importing drivers from Pakistan, India etc.
Would you really rather have that?

Are drivers being imported here to work or are migrant workers opting to drive taxis to make an honest living? Two different things to be honest.
I genuinely do not know, but find it hard to imagine that South Asians are being brought into the UK as part of a conscious drive to satisfy the need for taxi drivers.
There are specific category of visas being handed for “skilled” workers for jobs like taxi driving, constructions, sanitation etc.
Every european country has shortage of people who can take up low paying jobs.

Save yourself money and ditch Spotify. YouTube Premium comes with YouTube Music included. Might be different for others, but I’ve never not been able to find something I want on there, so Spotify became redundant.
Ad free YouTube is fucking amazing, I don’t think I could ever go back now. Also, the “jump ahead” button that lets you also skip the creator’s ad reads is a thing of beauty. They really did their best to stand on the “ad free” aspect of the service lol

You know Uber became operational in 2010 right? No one could have conceived its global coverage and wide spread use in just under a decade. We’re in the era of rapid technological advancement that is accelerating due to AI.

They are not war refugees, they deliberately immigrated to take over available low paying jobs.
