Takehiro Tomiyasu

Most likely Trincao did him bad

Still had some faint hope of a return, absolute quality player just never available.

Really loved him as a player, terrific defender.

Berta is ruthless :ode2:

A genuinely sad outcome for a player who had so much promise. He could play across the entire back line and rarely looked out of depth in any position. I thought defensively he was the best full back we had at the club at one point and it’s a shame how it ended up for him.

Hope his body recovers and he can continue his career.

I’ve got a feeling he might call it a day

Seems unlikely he wouldn’t try at least one more come back. Unless he’s been diagnosed with something very serious like osteoporosis or similar where a pro athletes life is just not compatible.

Well this came out of the blue  He’s only 26 so that knee must be more thrashed then what they first thought.

Fair play on that one.

Not using dark theme -1000 aura points though.

Well, this is certainly different. Say what you want but I always appreciated the club for standing by players in these situations.

I’d like to think the club are still willing to help him out in his recovery.

Yeah I’m with you, this is genuinely so sad.

I really liked him a lot and he rarely ever put a foot wrong for us - I always felt like he was an extremely trustworthy and reliable player.

Huge shame to see him go like this, hope he can fix whatever’s wrongs

In what way? Pretty much everyone agreed he wasn’t going to be valuable to us again. Mutual termination doesn’t prove you right lol unless you are privy to the exact details?

He must be in really bad shape if we are willing to terminate the contract. Wouldn’t be surprised if doesn’t play at a decent level again.

Was so excited about him in those first months at the club. Really though we got a proper long term Sagna replacement in him. Pre injury Tomiyasu is still my favourite RB at the club post Sagna.

But his body simply went another way.
An expected outcome sadly.
Hopefully he recovers enough to have a decent rest of his career, at a somewhat less demanding level obviously.

Sport can be cruel at times, was very talented and a consummate defender

He was definitely a reassuring and dependable presence for us, hopefully can still go on to have a meaningful career in time

All the best Tomi

A sad but inevitable end to Tomi’s career with the Arsenal. I think it’s fair to say he won’t be forgotten in a hurry even though he only played 65 games for us.

Sayōnara, Tomi-san and all the best!!

I would have given you a like if only you had used dark theme.

Tbh everything reads like it’s an agreed move by all to help him sort out his future, doesn’t seem like the club being overly ruthless.

I’m sure if he was fit he would train with us until he finds a move.

I don’t think he was that great but still pretty shite way for it to end, I imagine he wouldn’t complain much doing his part as a squad player if he could stay fit.
