Takehiro Tomiyasu

He’s going to be here next season. Just accept it…it will be easier in the long run!

Weird bump

Not due back until late in the year and only has one year left on his deal. Hopefully he can get back to some sort of level but I don’t see him having a future here, baring a miracle turnaround.

Next year’s Tierney.

Good riddance, sayonara

Need him out asap

When fit, he’s been an excellent player for us. Let’s not forget that.

Got stranded on a watery planet. Took much longer than expected.

Returned to the mothership and played back a few video messages and news updates, only to find Tomiyasu still injured.

His ability to play across the back 4 at a reasonably high level makes him unique, but his injury woes seem to be never ending. Would be sad to see him leave but it does makes sense.

He left.

Wow. Such a decent utility defender. But the worst injury record ever.

Thanks for everything Tomi.

Sad news.

As mentioned in one of my previous post - Tomi was in good form at one point and suddenly the form dropped and a lot were harsh on him. And then towards end of season (?) we found out he lost his mother who he was very close too. That really hit me.

Such a likeable bloke, went through a lot of mental distress and his body did not support his passion which was to only play football for the gunners.

Harsh decision but correct decision to terminate his contract. I hope Arsenal will allow him to use training facilities for rehab etc, which I’m sure they will not say no to.

The good thing is under Arteta, we are operating like a proper football club, whereas under AW, he was a softie and catered a lot of injured players due to loyalty.

I am sad that it didn’t work out. He seemed such a nice person and hardly had any bad games in him.
We lost the 22/23 league title when we lost both him & Saliba against Sporting.

Tactically pretty clever as well. It was his run that got us the first league win against City.

I am afraid his career is done. He shouldn’t have been too expensive to keep around. Arsenal could have negotiated a revised terms but to terminate the contract indicates that even post surgery, there will be complications.

I hope I am wrong. Good luck Takehiro

A shame, but given the fitness situation the right call I think. Always felt he delivered when he was on the pitch. That just wasnt often enough.

If Saudi is where he’s going then I hope he scores the big payday.

Can’t see the club saying no to that. We’ve had elneny back using the facilities recently.

It might even be a case that Tomi is already out of the country and will stay that way.

That’s a shame. Hope he can still have a career.

Was it the injury against sporting towards the end of the 22/23 season that started all these issues?

The Diaby of our defence.

Maybe a lesson to be learned here regarding Calafiori as well
