Super Mik Arteta

Yep. And they’d still be shit.

West Ham have been one of the better sides in the league and one of the most consistent ones too.
Far from an easy game.

Of all the shit in this league they are indeed one of the least shit this season.

Standards have dropped, I submit I’m negative more than usual but that’s because we’re a pile of shit this season.

I’m not delighted with a draw though, glad we tried to push on and win it, also glad the team seem disappointed with a draw.

I’m fucking furious.

West Ham. Moyes.

I’m told they are higher in the table and thus have better players than we do, so it’s a good result to a top 4 rival away…I guess?

From a poor manager.

As I said earlier, if we played as good as he talks, we’d be top of the PL.
The leeway Arteta is given is astonishing.
We were 3-0 down and manage to scrape a draw with West Ham scoring two own goals.
We’re in mid table, breaking records almost every game for the wrong reasons, we’re behind all our rivals and people are still defending him.

What does he have to do to convince people he’s not good enough?

Arteta is getting the type of leeway fans give young players breaking through. They imagine what the player would be like at their ceiling with major flaws ironed out. Coaches can develop the same way players do, but they usually work their way up the divisions. Arteta got hired because we thought he was a Pep clone. That’s really the only reason.

Up until Christmas results weren’t enough to justify keeping him much longer but the PR around him and improving play since then suggests he could be one of the next big things although it remains to be proved either way.

Even so, the stupid goals we keep giving away and inconsistencies are driving me nuts. Times like this it feels like 6 months of a George Graham type manager are needed to drill the stupidity and concentration lapses out of these players.

After the dreadful start today we woke up and played good stuff against a good (not very top) well drilled prem team. You could see why West Ham are 5th in the table so the draw wasn’t a tragedy even though I’m a bit disappointed.

Overall we’re midtable due to a diabolical first 14 games, our last 15 games is more or less top 4 standard, out of interest does anyone have a table from matchday 15-29 ?

Now the first 14 games could be a sackable offence, but what we need to work out is will next season be like games 15-29 or the first 14 ? Or somewhere in the middle ?

I’m of the belief we can go at about 2 Points per game for the duration of next season if the appropriate signings are made.

I disagree with this. The last 50/60 minutes of the game were exactly how I pictured the game to go against a Moyes-led team and us to get a somewhat easy 0-2 win. But somehow, and for fucks sake it happened way to often this season, we completely cracked through the ice. We literally stood there and just watched what they were doing.

This is getting fucking old too. Probably fucking hugs them before going on the field then gives out a bit after another shite performance.

Be interesting to see what people’s opinions would be if West Ham’s season was exactly the same, 29 games 49 points, performances the same etc but they were managed by say Carlo Ancelotti not David Moyes.

And yet, Arteta defenders always immediately point to how better our defense is with him in charge. I’m not sure it’s that much better. The metrics look better but we still shart ourselves at the first opportunity, still make individual errors, still start matches too slow.

How would you compare Rodgers Leicester and Arteta Arsenal season out of interest?

The same as they are know. They are ‘good’ because Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal are dropping the ball. If that wasn’t the case they would be 8th or 9th. What they are. Fabianski, Cresswell and Antonio are solid mid-table players, a couple of decent talents with Diop and Rice. Moyes is not working wonders. That is Wenger saying we were good and improved because we were 2nd in 15/16.

Hahaha, different levels man

Well obviously Leicester have had a far superior season, the first 14 games of our season was absolutely shocking. Since about Christmas it’s about 6 to one half a dozen to the other, but the first part of the season obviously has to count against Mikel…

All in all Rodgers 8/10 and Arteta 5/10.

Do Leicester win the FA cup ? Do Arsenal win the EL ? That could still impact my ratings.

FA cup and top 4 would be huge for Leicester and Rodgers.
We don’t reach the Europa and 7th to 10th would be awful.
League positions tbf now are mostly out of our hands now. Granted as well Arteta has had more to sort out with the likes of Ozil situation and getting shut of surplus players.
