That came out wrongly i guess.
I meant lol at you thinking i dont support Arsenal.
Been an Arsenal fan since 1999.
I still wear the same shirt every match of ours since fa cup 2014 final when we ended the drought.

Let me guess…It’s a number 11 shirt, with Ozil on the back?
So we know our squad for the season now, it’s time to discuss what is a pass mark for Arteta in his first full season ?
I think KSE signing off on a big contract for a 31 year old Aubameyang and stumping up the money for a player like Partey in his prime suggests they’d need CL football to feel vindicated in the outlay.
My personal view is top 4 always has to be minimum ambition for a club of this stature but if Mikel achieves that I’ll feel he has done well.
Honest assessment of the squad still has me thinking it’s more of a 5th or 6th placed squad.
Anything outside the top 6 is a disaster of a season.
Top 4 is achievable for me.
If we get 5th, I will give him a pass still.
It has to be CL Qualification.
Enough pieces to make top 4 or win the EL, no excuses.
Best squad we’ve had for the last 3 seasons
Can’t see how we don’t get top 4 this season now.
Outside of a major injury I’m expecting third and an outside shot of the title.
We should be clear favourites for third.
Any else is failure. Absolute failure
While getting into the top four obviously has massive financial repercussions for the club, I think its wrong to put too much weight on it in judging the manager.A lot of getting top four revolves around the luck of what happens to other clubs - last year 66 points was enough for third, a few years ago 75 wasn’t enough for fourth.
Top four is clearly the goal. But if we end up 5th yet our play is really moving in the right direction and we have more continued breakout from some younger players then I will still give Arteta decent marks. Similarly, if we scrape top four but our play is utter shit and our young players look to be stagnating, I’m not going to celebrate the achievement.
If we get top six and above spurs, i would;d consider that a decent season.
I don’t think top four is realistic, as we still lack a creative midfielder, and if there is something we have been lacking in our first few games this season, it is a playmaker.
There are at least eight clubs that could get a CL place so, if Arteta does do it, he will have done a good job but it’s going to be a very open season with several teams competing and it could be similar to when Leicester won the PL title.
You might be right but think the days of playing through the traditional playmaker has well gone. It’s all team effort and energy mostly now.
If?!
If our play continues to be utter shit I’d be gobsmacked if we make top 4.
Another thing we did is pay huge wages for a 32 year old Willian, so yeah I’m sure internally the ownership are expecting CL qualification.
Hard disagree mate, top 4 last season was achieved on 66 points (and a Leicester bottlejob) Chelsea lost a shocking amount of games and United drew so many. The season before that Emery botched losing top 4 to a Spurs team that lost 13 games by a single point. 75~ Points is absolutely realistic for Arteta, even if we don’t rate our squad, we have some key players that are top 3 (Arguably) in their position in the league (Tierney, Partey, Aubameyang)
Yeah it’s gotta be an if at this point, Liverpool, City, Chelsea, Spurs, United, Leicester and Everton are capable of finishing above us.
Well it’s an if for everyone bar Liverpool and city surely.
Yeah I if, not saying they all will, just saying each of those teams are capable.
We have invested well enough over the past couple of seasons now to be good enough for top 4.
Fair point but with Arteta an improved defence and Partey I back us
