Imagine setting up the team to dominate them for almost the entire game, get a two goal lead, and then concede those two shitty goals out of desperate crosses.

In theory, that ball should have never landed there, but somehow Matty f’n Cash pinged a perfect cross from deep with his left foot that landed perfectly onto Watkins.

We have two players in unfamiliar position on top of great crosses.
It’s the phase before the crosses that could have been better. Martinelli didn’t track Digne for instance.
Was lazy moving out to obstruct Digne’s cross on the first too.
Playing Partey at RB was going to cost us eventually and he essentially cost us the game tonight.
I don’t think Mikel had other options, this is what happens when you have four defenders injured.

Did Arteta tell Martinelli not to track Digne? Either way it doesn’t matter cos Merino does a terrible job of getting in between the ball and Tielemans.

It was Arteta’s decision to start Partey RB and unfortunately it did not pay off.
The goals conceded by Arsenal - you could fault Arteta/Partey for it.

He played really well in the first half at least and fucked up for the second goal cos he started playing offside.

Meh I don’t really think he did tbh. We actually played well and got a 2-0 lead and had them doing barely nothing the whole game. Both goals were poor defensive errors coupled with excellent crosses.
Not everything that happens in a game is directly a product of managerial action.
