Who cares? Not me. I won’t be watching, I never did.
Finally watching the press conference, thank god we’ve not fucked up this hire, honestly we were probably just an Ancelotti or some other shit hire away from losing our connection/relationship to any of the good things that Arsène established here over the past 20 years.
THANK YOU BASQUE GOD FOR SAVING US THANK FUCK IT WAS WRITTEN IN THE PROPHECY FOR YOU TO FORM YOUR RELATIONSHIP TO THE CLUB AS THE PREMIER LEAGUE’S BUSQUETS AND THEN GO ON TO SAVE THE CLUB FROM THE GRIPS OF EUNUCHISM
Look at what Arsenal is doing to people man.
Really need to turn this around.
No, seriously. I can’t believe people give their actual attention to manager press conferences.
Prediction for Everton game AC? You reckon the players put on a good show for Mikel?
Absolutely, yes. I can already feel a different bibe around the club. Quite conbinced.
Depends man. I’m obsessed with football. Ngl. Whenever I’m bored I put football stuff in the background to listen to or watch. I’m very interested in what people say about football and especially about the ones that I follow or support. You can tell a lot about people by the way people carry themselves. For example, Emery looked out of it from the get go. Arteta oozes charisma. Mourinho the same. If you don’t have charisma then chances are you won’t be a top coach.
"Time will tell. To talk about experience, experience in a job, a job has a lot of roles and responsibilities, some of them I was doing in my previous job, some others not, but most of them are linked, and there are things that you do have or you don’t have. "
TOMAAAA BASQUE GOD SHOTS FIRED TO THE FERVENT RADICAL EXPERIENCISTS
Fantastic press conference from Arteta.
Excited to see his influence on the players.
I believe he followed this statement with “eat your heart out Shamrock” and gave the single finger salute…mustn’t have made the live conference edit.
He did in fact say this, but in basque, which he can safely do in a public forum because it’s such a mesoteric language that only illuminated beings and magical wizards like Gladiator and I can understand it.
I agree it’s only a press conference but he comes across as an exceptionally nice but also passionate and determined person. It just makes you want to wish well for him.
He talks also like he’s learned a lot from Guardiola and has good motivational skills.
I feel very excited about what he might do even with his lack of experience but let’s see how he gets on. It’s a really big job ahead.
Mikel said: “This is a huge honour. Arsenal is one of the biggest clubs in the world. We need to be competing for the top trophies in the game and that’s been made very clear to me in my discussions with Stan and Josh Kroenke, and the senior people from the club.
“We all know there is a lot of work to be done to achieve that but I am confident we’ll do it. I’m realistic enough to know it won’t happen overnight but the current squad has plenty of talent and there is a great pipeline of young players coming through from the academy.”
No wi those shoes pal, nae chance
That’s quite the burn. Mikel has gotten me good there.
I returned to watch a press conference after eighteen months. What I felt watching Arteta is something similar I felt in the past watching and listening Wenger. This appointment is the first step to rediscover the Arsenal identity.
Arteta looked to have a clear vision of what happened in the last 18 months, why happened and how he can drive the club out of the crisis.
He needs players fully motivated to do that. Show the exit doors of London Colney to who isn’t convinced of that.
Fucking brilliant press conference and Arsenal interview. Pulling no punches whatsoever and basically saying if a player doesnt want to be invested into his philosophy then they can fuck off. I love it.
All I am hoping and praying for is that the board back him 100% . If they do, then do you know what, it’s just what this club needs at the moment. Our identity back and a winning mentality.
Martinelli will flourish under Arteta as well.
I am truly excited and can’t wait what the next few years bring.
Not trying to be negative or funny b/c I am going to get behind this guy, but some of the reactions to limited press conferences are hilarious…
let’s see…
- We were kind of sh*t and lost our identity - holy hell, this guy is a genius
- We are going to do some things and do them in my way… OR ELSE - wow, that is incredibly inciteful and brave and clear and detailed
While I will be optimistic, b/c it is in my nature and what other f*ng option do I have as a fan (?), I am kind of Missouri at this point:
SHOW ME
Nothing else matters than results and positive trajectory - the moron Emery was disastrous on both.
Cautiously optimisc and sincerely hope we’ve turned a corner with this apppoitment, it’s a risk but the reward is potentially equal to it.
The press conference was very refreshing and he does indeed talk a good game, however, ultimately talk is cheap and change should not take too long to be evident, hopefully he is given the resources and competent support to succeed.
Next eighteen months will be very interesting, the job is a huge one when you factor the need to redefine the culture, philosphy and mentality of the team. There are so many players that can benefit from a manager that has a progressive philosphy and a ruthless approach. If all goes well players like Pepe could be absolutely flying come next season with a pre-season under their belts.
Haven’t bought my ticket for the hype train yet, far too early for that but nice to see some positivity around the club for a change.
I know ur excited cuz Arteta is ur boy and the hire u wanted, but do you honestly think this is a more positive hire than someone like Pochetino?
