With one or both of City and Liverpool guaranteed to drop points, any type of win here would be fucking amazing.

I think it’ll be tough up there with them in good form and still on a high from their start to the season but they are a bit more progressive than some of the other sides we have faced so I think we will have a lot of opportunities.

Xhaka redemption arc incoming

Sunderland have a solid defensive foundation with Xhaka leading. This will be a tough test especially with key players out.

Really need Eze and Saka to step up just how Gabriel has been stepping up in terms of presence and quality.

A win would be fantastic, a win with cleansheet would be luxury.

Will definitely be a tough nut to crack but think we just edge it

It’s absolutely written in the stars. Knowing the sort of character he is, he’s showing up, there zero doubt about it in my mind.

As in an own goal followed by a sending off? :pires2:

The team picks itself at the moment same as Burnley with Merino up top.

Reckon Raya will have to be on it this game they will try and get something with their confidence and in front of their own fans.

Still 3 points and no injuries.

They’re confident and at home. We’re playing a 3rd away game in 7 days with most of our attacking players out.

Prediction grungy Arsenal 0-1 win via set piece that sends opposition fans into meltdown.

Wouldn’t shock me if the refs blows the final whistle at 0-0 on the scoreboard.

I think Sunderland are crap tbh. The position in the table flatters them. They only won 3 of their first 8 games in all competitions and didn’t look anything dangerous against Everton in their last game out.

Yeah they’ve got momentum but I dont think they’re all that.

They’ll be super up for it though, given our recent schedule and injuries I’ll take a draw.

Genuinely have no idea what people are worrying about.

1-1 xhaka thunderbolt. No clean sheet and Man City win on Sunday to top it off.

That should be all avenues covered right?

It’ll be tough to win, yes we have lots out, yes we’ve had a busy schedule etc etc

But with our current standards and aspirations I don’t think we can be saying we’d take a draw at Sunderland before a ball is kicked.

Think this will be a cagey 1-1 or 2-2, though this should be a must win game for us; especially considering that City/Liverpool will drop points. We haven’t conceded more than 2 goals in a game for years. But I’m not sure we have the firepower to put 3 past them in EPL.

We’re definitely scoring a set-piece goal lol, that is inevitable but I also think that Xhaka will inspire them too to score at least 1 goal.

Are we not gonna address @RockyMaivia willing this injury crisis to our forwards into existence with that joke about Dowman having to come on against Sunderland away?

Let’s hope he doesn’t go full Adebayor and celebrate in front of our supporters.

from 10 clean sheets in a row to conceding 2 against Sunderland - I am not having it…

If we score early we score a few, if it drags out, could be a gritty 1-0
