Squad Management

Lot of sides better than the Milan teams who could claim the same. It’s just not logical to expect that easy a run to the semi in a normal circumstance.

We got there before having beat Europa level opposition like Roma and Villarreal when our team was really mediocre but we’ve also been knocked out by teams like that and worse in the Europa League too with very decent Arsenal sides.

If that’s the route again no reason why we couldn’t as we should beat that level of side but could easily wind up facing killers in the knockouts. Everything depends on who we’re facing tbh and main thing for me is we need to show our quality in Europe against the best. We can’t be turning out like late Wenger’s sides getting obliterated without resistance.

I expect us to give sides like Madrid and Bayern a proper competitive tie and push them all the way. Think this might be the year we beat a team like that over two legs.

If we can showcase the quality of the first half of last season in Europe, we can go far. Just recent years we’ve really let ourselves down and played well below our level.

Why do I feel this image is trying to highlight the skin complexion variance in the team?

Looks like a shit guess who board

IMHO, @Mr_Nostalgia deserves to be permabanned for posting that monstrosity. :pires2:

Have you seen some of the stuff you post?

I need to see Partey in the squad for me to have real belief. Nelson as back up to Saka stinks as well.

Unless Arteta is going to use Kai as permanent #8, otherwise I guess he will be used in all attacking positions and Nelson will not log significant minutes.

That squad is a top 5 or 6 fav for the CL.

Deliberate?

Absolutely, I think there are a lot of deliberate things Arteta is doing

One of the most important things for me is recruiting most of his signings from Premier League clubs, meaning we dont have a settling in period.
They all should be ready to hit the ground running.

Havertz is really 6’4"?! Bloody hell

Havertz doesn’t look tall on the pitch from my perspective

You look at the size of the city players, many of them are giants compared to the average player…or at least they look like giants. Absolute units as well. Maybe it’s all those alleged PED’s.

I knew he was tall but not that tall. :joy:

I guess it makes sense now, in that clip that went tweet viral with him and Gabriel talking after the match he looks as tall if not taller that him.

It also checks out why his aerial duels won stat is so high.

Its funny that even 6ft is considered big lol

I don’t think he is quite 6"4

Kai is only 6’2"

Weghorst in on loan and we’re cooking.

A taller team is a plus, but I’d rather physical than tall. The sweet spot is a Gabriel or Saliba who tick both boxes.
