(Spoilers) House of the Dragon/Game of Thrones

Good episode.
Fucking gutted Rhaegal got speared, that second shot through the head/neck was quite the shock. I struggle with how all the way through this TV show since their birth the dragons have been lauded as invincible yet in the space of 6 episodes tow of them have easily been speared down.

Surely Euron isn’t stupid enough to not question how Tyrion knows she’s pregnant.

Sansa proving everything she says right and everything Danny does wrong. Sansa telling Danny they should wait then 10 minutes later Rhaegal and Missandei dead. Fuck sake.

RIP Rhaegal and Missandei.

Tormund is fucking brilliant :joy::joy:
You would indeed think just that rock wouldn’t be such of an hinderance for her view from that far up. But I struggled with this for the past 2-3 seasons, a lot is being done just for effect but not making a lot of sense.

Missandei was the only character of importance that they could have captured? Harpoons are strong enough too actually sink boats with?

I think the show has jumped the shark imho. So many things are just done for the plot with little thought.

Losing one dragon was bound to happen (shout out to the Night King…gone too soon x) but losing another is dumb and irresponsible writing. Bran Stark has warged into crows purely to scout the Night Kings movements. I cannot believe his presence (lol) serves little or no use to the characters. Rescue us GRRM.

Also Jon Stark smh. Your own father died not telling a single soul of your actual heritage. Jon makes up some BS about having to tell his sisters who tells it to the next soul she sees, Tyrion who tells it to the Master of Whispers…sighs

Dany’s descent into madness is also a disappointing development.

Dany’s descent is actually the only thing I’m glad to see happen. You could see signs of it from the earlier seasons so it only makes sense.

Aside from that I agree with the rest of your post mate. Are you new to the forum? Welcome aboard mate and good posting.

I disagree, she’s a spoilt brat who’s made it look like she fought adversity but in reality had everything handed to her. She’s gone through many easy wins, amassing amazing armies with little effort and just her own Jesusness and being told how amazing she is for years by all her closest people.

It’s entirely plausible that she’d be entitled and obsessed with her throne, which she’s just assumed is hers for a long time and be bitter of anything getting in the way because up until now since she’s become a conquerer nothing really got in her way.

What’s not really plausible is that the descent into madness would take just 2 or 3 episodes.

I guess you could argue her roasting of the Tarlys was kind of mad when she’s supposedly merciful, but I think they’ve rushed it a little too much, like it was just an idea they had after season 7 ended.

I think it’s pretty obvious now that the wheel ain’t getting broken and she has to die, and I guess this episode Tyrion and Varys both made themselves worthy candidates for the deed.

I think Dany’s madness is the one thing they’ve managed to build well, sometimes subtly and sometimes more obviously over the past few seasons.

I’m glad it’s finally coming to fruition - the paranoia, the distrust, the attempt at manipulation but then just being a cold ass bitch to Jon in the bedroom scene.

Will be curious to see how that pans out. Think she will get capped by somebody right before she decides to do something crazy, maybe the wildfire caches will come back into play. Chip off her old man’s block.

I’m an old soul. I use to be part of the old forum under the username ‘Mr Arsenal’ with the same avatar. Had like 10,000 posts  Thanks for the welcome!

They’ve certainly given hints to Dany’s demise throughout, I agree. But the way they’ve treated her in season 8 is as if the script is forcing it too much.

Welcome back mate. You were one of my favourite posters on the old board so good to see you again.

My thoughts exactly in respects to the 2 or 3 episodes it’s taken. The only truly mad thing that she’s done is burn the Tarly’s which was a dumb political move, but believable. Often however, the other characters were judging her based on her fathers previous misdeeds, rather than her actual deeds.

The stuff in Meereen kind of shows she’s not great with ruling, but never showed madness unless we count her obsession as madness. She’s always been about the people (sometimes to her detriment) but now the likeliest thing is she’ll look to burn all those that reside in Kings Landing…with one dragon and 50 unsullied ffs

Yes, I preferred this episode to episode 3.

I’d love for a really callous way for this all to end- Cersei stays on the Iron Throne

I think they’re going to troll us with a legitimately good castle defence next episode too :mustafi:

It’s amazing how the tide has turned so much that you’re looking at the rebel alliance attacking king’s landing and can’t imagine how they could possibly win. I guess Arya knows the castle so can find the reactor.

They’ve already prophesied the red keep being burned down which I guess means Dany fucking it up unless Cersei is pulling her Guy Fawkes shit again.

I hope Dany wins by mass slaughter and then someone fucks her up. Also hope cocky Arya gets smacked down too. Would love her to get valar morgulised by the faceless men as soon as she was about to do something significant.

I just want some next level unexpected backstabbing. I thought it might have been Melisandre and the lord of light in the last episode but unfortunately not.

It just feels rushed now. Too much material and not enough episodes.
