This is an awful situation. Carrying players who are not needed or wanted. Taking an early look at Soares seems the clubs not learning. Giving four year contracts out to players struggling at mid table clubs is compounding progress.

Hes heavy and slow and will age very quickly with his build in the PL.
He said it himself, if he is not wanted he’ll go.
Tbf, that was pre-corona though, maybe his mindset has changed.

I wish Papa got some minutes since the restart. Not sure exactly what the situation is(keeping him injury free to sell, freezing him out to force him to leave or doesn’t fit with the 3atb we play) but he’s still a better choice than Holding.

Probably also to do with giving match experience to players who will be here next season. He clearly doesn’t see Sokratis’ future here

Agreed to an extent, but when you have nothing games at the end of the season which don’t make any difference to getting into Europe etc then you could argue match experience is more important.

I don’t understand why we aren’t using him to be honest, he’s not the greatest defender alive but I consider him better than Mustafi and Holding.

He’s much better than Holding. Surprised he’s been frozen out. I don’t ever remember him being that woeful on the ball.
