Cool. Koscielny is who I would partner him with. I think Sokratis is slightly safer than him though as Kos had a blunder in him every so often.

He’s surely a goner. He doesn’t get picked in a back 3 and Holding gets on before him as a sub.
We’ll be lucky to recoup half of what we paid for him.
He does strike me as a guy who wants to play, so if he isn’t in Arteta’s plans, I hope he accepts slightly lower wages but playing time elsewhere.

This is his last chance. If he gets picked and shows he is a better option than Mustafi and Kola(in terms of what Arteta wants) then he may have a chance to stay. If not, his days here are done. He mentioned before that once he doesn’t feel needed he’ll go.

I feel like he’s already had his chance. We have Mari and Saliba coming back next season as well. Based on what we can see right now, he’s currently 5th choice with those two not even in the picture. Playing Kolasinac and Mustafi ahead tells you he doesn’t fit in with the ball playing requirements and/or isn’t rated as a defender.
Good to hear he would leave if he didn’t get playing time. Should be a relatively simple transfer to sort out if needed

And that’s fair enough, I don’t even disagree we could have gotten better value, I just don’t think the Papa deal is blatantly bad in comparison to what the current market serves up.

I like Sokratis in the “serviceable player with good hustle” way, not the “best CB in the Emirates era” way (which is ridiculous).
