Raya;
White, Mosquera, Gabriel, MLS;
Eze, Norgaard, Rice;
Saka, Merino, Trossard

Wouldn’t mind Nwaneri starting over Eze but I can see Arteta going a bit safer.

Can always make the sub early if we’re in a position to do so.

We are well and truly into the territory of the same three players having to start up front now. When do we get some players back?

Squad is starting to look a little thin. We really need that international break, as much as I’m not looking forward to it at all.

Would be lovely to go into the Spurs game with Ode, Gyok, Madueke and Havertz all ready to go.

Get any win here and hopefully Saka, Eze and Rice off early to rest up for Sunderland.

Fingers crossed Arteta can pull some shenanigans to keep Rice and Saka away from the international fixtures.

After the next international break. It sounds like Madueke and Havertz are making good progress. I believe the original timeline had Odegaard also coming back around that time too.

Not sure on Jesus.

I’ll be honest, not comfortable starting Norgaard based on what he’s showed.
Would prefer going with Rice instead of Zubimendi and then use Merino as an #8 if Gyokeres is fit or go with MLS.

Hearing he won’t be back until Easter

White Saliba Mosquera Hincapie

Eze - Rice - Merino

Dowman - Gyokeres - Martinelli

Saka on at 60 for Gabi (if he is even back) and Nwaneri for Eze when we’re 3-0 up.

No room for MLS?

I think we know what he can do but id like to see Hincapie in what is presumably the spot we bought him for.

Then keep a relatively strong midfield and make sure we get ahead.

I can’t see Arteta rotating too much because we need to win every CL game we can knowing we’ve got a couple tougher ones to come.

As I said above, I think we start strong and make early subs if we can.

Assuming Gyokeres doesn’t start I’d go with the below. Not much in the way of bench options other than defence.

Raya

Timber Saliba Gabriel MLS

Eze Norgaard Rice

Saka Merino Trossard

I’d rotate here personally, maybe not quite as much as against Brighton but in that direction. Start with a rotated side and bring the big guns (Saka, Rice, Timber, Gabriel) off the bench in the second half if necessary like in the League Cup.

The squad just seems on the brink, picking up muscle issues every PL game now. My priorities are putting out a strong fresh team against Sunderland and avoiding any serious injuries prior to the international break when we can get players back and reset a bit.

A draw against Slavia Prague would not be disastrous. We would still likely finish top eight just by beating Kairat and Club Bruges, no matter the results against Bayern and Inter.

More rotation means we could concede a shot on target though. Would be sad.

2 points separated 6th and 14th last season. Dont think this isnt the format for throwing games. Win your games and give yourself the option to rest players at the end if it goes well.

Besides, having an international break in the following week means any injuries and players have two weeks to recover from. From Nov-Jan the games come thick and fast and even a small niggle can end up missing 3/4 games.

It’s ignorance but I don’t expect much out of Slavia. Our defence is our defence but feel we could really smack them with our attack. If Gyokeres is fit, he could have a field day here.

use a weakened side and I reckon we would still beat them with a clean sheet

Pretty much, I think besides the doubts in Zubimendi and Gyokeres, the only rotation I can see is either or both fullbacks.

If it ends up an easier game than expected and we get a good lead, you simply get to sub players out early.

If we keep a clean sheet in this game, then we match our best ever record of consecutive clean sheets.

That was back in 1903
