To think Milan didn’t want Conte :joy:

Have to commend Conte. Napoli looked miserable.

Buongiorno looks like he integrated right away

Turned McTominay into a beast too. Uses him absolutely perfectly and varies up his role depending on the game.

Conte’s squad building is a severely underrated quality of his.
Just give him the tools he wants and he’ll get you results.
Spurs beat us to the CL 3 years ago after the signings he made with Paratici in that January transfer, who had massive impact in their season.

In the summer he wanted the likes of Lautaro, Bastoni and others and they brought him dudes like Richarlison, Lenglet and forced a brat like Spence on him.
The only guy of his they managed to get him was fucking Perisic.

Same shit happened at Chelsea when they won the title he wanted Radja, Van Dijk, Bonucci, Lukak and instead of a variation of them he got Drinkwater, Morata and some other junk.

Nah…It took a bottle job from Arsenal for Spurs to get that CL spot.
For all his reputation & transfers, Conte needed Rob Holding’s brainfart.

Not watching Napoli, but I assume he using him in some adwanced role, as a box to box who gets into positons in the final third, presses high etc…

I was always saying he 's not a 6 although they mostly pushed him there at United, and all their managers couldn’t break through that image most had of McTominay as a young player - that he’s a destroyer who sits in front of the defence. Was always pretty amazed how agile and balanced he is and how good his footwork is for a guy of his size. And always showed good focus in the final third.
It was always quite obvious he was more suited for a dynamic box to box role that playing as a 6 where he doesn’t have enough tactical discipline, isn’t a great playmaker etc…

Was also saying he would do great for us in the role Xhaka had in his last season.

Gotta say I thought Conte at a Napoli squad that had such a miserable year last year was a recipe for disaster but he’s proven me wrong.

Hats off to your guy @SRCJJ . They have been excellent! That Lukaku goal where he ragdolled Pavlovic was really something.

It might still end in tears but if he wins the scudetto nobody will care.

Actually, if he wins it would he have an argument for being the best Italian coach over the last decade? I know Carlo has won a bucketload of CLs but winning the scudetto with Juve, Inter and Napoli would be wild.

Hows Gilmour doing?

Started slowly but I’ve watched Napoli last two games and thought he was very solid. Conte seems to love him gave him some big embrace on the touch lines last night too.

Happy to see the Scottish players over the last few years embracing Italian football and developing over there. Ferguson injury stalled his progress but that’s another top talent there.

I don’t think he has really played as a 6 for a few years now. Always seems to play further forward whenever I watched him with United.

I think Serie A would suit Tierney. Napoli did have a long standing interest in him. I do wonder if that’s a player they’ll be interested to take on the cheap with his stock so low, perhaps not in January but next summer.

I think he will go to Celtic on loan till his contract runs out tbh. Rodgers will want him

Serie A would be a great move for him though if we get any interest in him from there

I think a loan to Celtic in January makes the most sense. If he can keep fit and get back into form he can then look for a permanent move next summer, whether that’s Celtic or elsewhere.

Juric is getting sacked tonight apparently if he doesn’t beat Torino and apparently there is consideration of reinstating De Rossi(yes, after sacking him last month).

Incredible stuff, only Roma.

Weird to say this but at Roma’s level, Mourinho was the best choice and should have been backed.

Isn’t that more of a money-saving decision? He’d still be under contract.

Another game, another assist for Nuno

Capello winning the Scudetto with them seems a miracle. Club that seems to operate on the periphery of madness.

Nuno has been sent off for two yellows. The bozo gene was just lying dormant
