I think it’s more about the feeling of possibility within the league rather than a display of true quality (even if they’ll have 5 or 6 CL spots).
If you told me now that Inter collapse under the weight of their financial problems and finish in 10th while Conte takes charge at Milan but leaves by Christmas and Roma inexplicably finish 2nd behind Scamacca and Kvara scoring 50 goals combined for Napoli, I’d believe it.
If they stay 9th, they may get a European spot.
Napoli is right behind them though.
I don’t think enough people would bet on Torino for their price to go down so significantly. Screams of someone knowing something about how Atalanta may treat the game.
As far as I know Gasperini isn’t the type of person to take games lightly. He may rotate a bit but he’ll still go for a strong team and will aim to finish as high as possible.
Roma have now officially lost the CL spot that they were temporarily gifted by Atalanta after winning the EL before Atalanta themselves took it away from them by beating Torino and guaranteeing they finish 4th or higher.
Roma didn’t deserve it anyway.
Napoli have also lost the opportunity of claiming a late European spot after failing to beat Lecce and climb to 9th(given Torino lost).
It’s probably the worst title defence I’ve seen since Chelsea when they finished 10th.
It all started by letting Spalletti and trying to replace him with every bum manager they could find.
Fucking Rudi Garcia you know, the guy who was sacked by Al-Nassr.
Imagine us parting with Arteta after he wins the league and we replace him with Nuno Santos. That’s the equivalent.
