Serge Gnabry

Gnabry and Jesus would make us very competitive up front.

Saka, Gnabry and Jesus would be a technically excellent attack with lots of pace and dribbling ability. We’d really give opposing defenders something to think about - ideally you’d think it those three players would be able to launch on the counter for pressing teams and also break down low-block defensive teams that sit back.

Are you confident Gnabinho will return?

I really wouldn’t discount it to be honest.

Every interview I’ve ever seen with him he always speaks so highly of us and it doesn’t seem like it’s just simple platitudes, I think he means it.

I think there’s more to these rumours. Could be he’s one of those players who doesn’t mind a challenge and knows that he could be one of the missing pieces to take us back to the top - even better when it’s at a club he really likes/feels like he has unfinished business at.

You worried a bit about it being too fluid? Sometimes it is nice to have a focal point/lamp post.

Is there such a thing as too much liquid football?

I know what you mean, but I feel like we’d be able to make it work.

To be honest this is exactly what we should have done for Ozil, a real fluid front 3 for him to facilitate. We gave him a lamppost in the form of Giroud and it put him off the sport.

If Odegaard was trying to find Gnabz Jesus and Saka the goals would simply come.

It wouldn’t be the worst thing to have a target man ala Lewa or Benzema type that’s really can hold up play but there aren’t a lot of traditional, proper link up and hold up strikers out there right now.

An interchangable and fluid front 3 would make a lot more sense than a sub par CF.

True. Ozil played best with Giroud on the pitch. Their connection was undeniable really.

Ozil never really had a strong partnership with Alexis despite his “fluid” skillset. Alexis was a maverick so iso ball was his style

Undeniably shit perhaps, Giroud stopped scoring for half a season and cost Ozil the assist record in the EPL. And us a league title.

No idea how you’re remembering it like this, Ozil always looked a million times happier playing with Alexis and Santi, Giroud was simply there.

Ozil’s best was playing with Ronaldo, Benzema and Di Maria on club level in 2011-13.

Ozil’s best was playing with Klose, Muller, and Podolski on NT level in 2010.

Players with smart movemenylt and speed.

His best partnership definitely was not with Giroud.

Ozil and Giroud had no partnership. You cant really have a good connection with a fridge unless you are Andre Santos.

Ozil benefittet from movement at all times, somethings Giroud is not capable of delivering.

I think he was hugely frustrated with Giroud and it was quite obvious at times, he knew Giroud limited him so much, being so slow and so limited on the ball.

I still remember that compilation that was doing the rounds back then of Giroud missing all of Ozil’s gifts and Ozil tearing his fucking hair out lol.

Stuff like that’s always a bit harsh on the striker because everyone misses sitters but my god the volume of those misses was a depressing watch.

You replace Giroud with someone like Higuain or a Benzema- hell even Vardy, and we’re probably talking about Ozil as an Arsenal legend today

So much Giroud slander, man still out here being a key component in league title wins

Girouds a winner, been that even before he joined us

Really can’t understand how anyone could have religiously watched Arsenal during that period and found Giroud anything other than ridiculously frustrating.

I’ll raise you

Nah can’t rewrite history bro. Giroud’s went on to have a really impressive career but it doesn’t change the fact as the solo CF for Arsenal he was mad frustrating to the point that he could actually be a nightmare

Come on dude i was clearly taking about his time at Arsenal. Why else would i mention Alexis lol
