I just think it’s a genuine shame that he lacks ambition. He’s 32, will be 33 by the start of next season (which he has decided to spend at Spurs), and literally hasn’t won a single trophy at either club or international level as a senior pro. It’s highly likely that’ll be the case when he retires.
It’s verging on criminal for a player as good as him.
A perfect example of how talent alone with zero ambition can sometimes carry someone throughout their career.
Seems like he’s perfectly comfortably winning jack shit and revels in it.

Son missed his chance to leave when spurs were still somewhat relevant (at least more consistent top 4).
He stuck with them and now he’s not at the level where clubs would be lining up for him, so this time it makes sense to stay.
Don’t think it’s a shame at all, fuckin spursy cunt.
