Scum

Just tbf Newcastle and Norwich are also doing this.

Surprised at Norwich, considering they banked the big money from promotion and barely spent any of it, but not at Mike Ashley going along with it.

Billionaires are capitalists right up until it might affect their net worth at which point they become the most ardent socialists.

These cunts are self-isolation on £100m super yachts of the coast of St. Kitts while their employees are struggling to pay rent and feed their families, and then they still have the gall to ask the government for handouts to pay their employees.

The reason they have those billions is off the BACK of the labour of their employees. These bastards wouldn’t be billionaires if it wasn’t for the toil and grind of the people that work for them.

The reason we let them keep their billions as a society is so that they can put the capital they gain from the labour of the masses to work in society. Which is what they need to do now.

Granted I understand that most of their assets will be tied up in securities that may have lost value and very little of it will be in cold cash but I’m sure they could come up with a solution.

They’re just scared that they may end up with only Ā£2bn instead of Ā£4bn which is the real fucking problem. The issue at hand is the limitless greed that our current level of capitalism has engendered in the ruling classes.

Even if Joe Lewis sacrifices Ā£2bn of his net worth he would still have more money than God left over and there wouldn’t be anything in the world he couldn’t by apart from the biggest corporations out there.

This selfishness and greed we see amongst the ruling classes is an absolute scourge upon on society and these cunts need to look at Bill G and Warren Buffett as examples of what you should do with your money.

I’m not saying give it all away, but just support the people and society that has allowed you to succeed and profit so greatly off of them.

I’m weary of calling others out yet because these things can be a momentum thing and we could join it.

With the Kroenkes running the show, it wouldn’t surprise me if we did :frowning:

Privatise profits and socialise losses.

Like that cunt Branson, happy to keep the profits to themselves (and sue the NHS, but that’s a separate issue), now there’s a global crisis and nobody is flying they come cap in hand to the state hoping for a handout to keep themselves afloat.

Just like my argument in the ā€what really grinds my gears threadā€. The same people that want less government control and lower taxes, are the same that now demand more from the government in this crisis. I’m glad we have high taxes in Sweden, because everyone should contribute and people are hardly poor in this country. We have a huge tax reserve, that now covers vital things like medical care equipment, social services for the medical staff, salary payouts for businesses that are struggling. I only work 40% now because of Corona. My bosses pay those 40% of my wages and my union have negotiated that I get 52,5% of the rest from the government aid package.

I get the argument why should those who have fought for their well paid jobs have to pay more. But on the other hand you have been able to utilise so much tax money to get to where you are now. Public schooling, health care, free medical, dental care, student loans with low interest, reduced traveling fees etc.

Branson is a huge parasite. He initially got rich on an alleged VAT fraud and he’s always lining his own pocket at the expense of others. He’s just the typical ego inflating self promoting tosser I cannot stand, shagging his way through his work force, lining his pockets and pretending to be some kind of hero. He should be bottom of the list for state hand outs and should be using his billionaire fortune to fund his problem business instead.

Today I bought a homeless man a box of donuts and a gallon of milk, it costed me $8. That was .0003% of my wealth. It was a decent thing to do. The Spurs owner is worth $4b did I read? If he has 500 employees at the club making minimum wage that’s 1.2m, he could support them all for a month and it would be .0003% of his wealth. For a billionaire that’s literally like pocket change, so yeah he doesnt have to but if he cant even sacrifice that little bit of money for the ppl working diligently for him, then he’s a piece of shit.

We are getting the same situations over here. Zion Williamson the 19 year old rookie NBA sensation, offered to cover the wages of all the non playing/coaching employees for the New Orleans Pelicans until the games start again. Meanwhile the billionaire owner was nowhere to be found,.of course until she was bullied into helping because a 19 year old kid made her look like trash :joy::joy:

Nothing to add except, it’s (yet another) sad indictment of a lack of humanity and you even have some people in this thread attempting to justify it

Covid-19 exposing the very best and worst of us all like nothing else in a generation I suspect

Of course though being football fans the moral outrage will be forgotten about as usual when the resumption comes about though.

Tbh now like you said, the habits out, if football clubs keep reminding people of their unrepentant greed, people are gonna properly stop watching and fall out of love with the game.

It’s appalling how these people/companies fight any sort of rule and regulation but as soon as they come into trouble it’s the government’s responsibility to bail them out. The justification in that being that these are extraordinary circumstances. But that is how the free market works…you can’t really choose the circumstances to compete in.

I personally believe the system needs a revamp. But whenever the opportunity comes for that, the choice is made to keep the status quo.

Enjoyable listening on TalkSport for once tonight, they’re basically devoting a whole program to slagging off Levy and that nasty shambles of a club, Tottenham :+1:

ā€œOhhhhhhh Levy’s the good guy in this, he’s just doing this to shame the players into giving up their wageā€
