It’s hard for me to not call him a legend.
So far above the pool of talent we had at the time and he helped us break the trophy drought.

You don’t think he is?
My favourite Arsenal player
Can’t not smile watching a Cazorla interview
What a lovely player he was/is!!
Such a shame injuries curtailed his time here with us cause he was such a magician with the ball. The first player I saw who was comfortable with both feet.
Nah, I’d say he’s more of a cult hero. I put him in the same bracket as Rosicky etc.
I think he’s somewhere in the middle betwen cult hero and legend. He doesn’t really have the longevity with us to be a legend but I think of cult heroes as guys who might not have been amazing players but had big moments or they had endearing characteristics.
I think Santi could have been a massive player for us if fit and here for a longer time and I think a lot of the love for him is because people saw how amazing he was on the ball, coupled with what seems like a likeable personality.
He’s no where near a legend for me. He was a great player for us and scored the biggest goal in our modern era to start the comeback in a final we couldn’t afford to lose to end the near decade trophy drought. Cult hero is more like it
Completely agree. He’s not a legend, but he’s a fan favourite and will always be loved by Arsenal supporters.
Br frank, legend or cult hero, does it matter?
Whenever he comes back he will receive warm welcome, and fans miss his playing days…
Call him whatever fans want.
Legends, heroes, all in Arsenal glory history.
Santi is not a legend. New fans will not know he is in 30 years. What a wonderful footballer though. One of and probably after Ozil my favourite signing of the Emirates era.
legeeend. actual legend though. legendary smile, amongst other things.
A bit like Bergkamp, would love to see Santi back at the club in some capacity soon. I can imagine him being Arteta’s assistant. Good cop/bad (and slightly insane) cop combo.
I really want Santi to come home and be part of Arteta’s coaching staff…absolutely love this guy
I love Santi and would love to have him on our coaching staff too but only if he moves the needle for us. Besides, looks like his playing career is far from over.
I hope he is playing for Oviedo this coming season. I will try to go watch him live.
Ah shucks, his contract expires this June.
Arteta admitted of offering him a job, didn’t he?
Edit:
My bad, it was Cazorla who admitted that there were talks with Arteta about that prospect.
Do you live in Spain now?
Nah, That would have been amazing.
However I have plans to visit Basque again and Oviedo is part of the plan.
