Samir Nasri

Most beautiful football I’ve ever seen to this day. Barca played similar but they were more about possession and efficiency.

Cesc was everything.

He does that turn and assist so casually as if it’s a summer friendly, not a league game against a United side that won their third league title in a row that season and got to a second CL final in a row (their best generation ever for most).

Great finish by Nasri, I think he scored both of our goals that game.

That game could’ve finished 10-10. I remember being very nervous ahead of it- so much so that I decided to work for a half day instead of watching the bulk of the game! The replay was magnificent, though.

Typical Arsenal to lose the next home game 0-2 to the Villa.

He definitely stands above many of the others in my books.

One of the very few that didn’t sugarcoat his exit. Said it from the start, money and trophies.

Those defenders still see Nasri charging at and past them in their nightmares.

Fantastic goal.

Great player but selling him and Cesc, only to see them replaced with panic buys, was about the worst window we’ve had, especially as both went on to win titles at their new clubs straight away.

Yeah but he was a very sleezy person and a bully.
Imagine being bullied for height by two short fucks.

You know, two of those panic buys are now in key positions at the club and have helped turned things around for us, so perhaps it wasn’t all that bad.

Good player, but was a mercenary, who came, played for us and left as soon as he found better opportunities. Can’t expect anything more from a mercenary imo. Good little player though.

I was going to mention them but despite Arteta and Mertesacker being very good players, they were a downgrade on what we sold, although as you say, they’ve certainly turned the club round.

Da fuq?! Just because, 12(!) years after the fact, Arteta happens to be a good manager that doesn’t make that signing at the time not ‘all that bad’. Arteta was a shite signing. As was Mertesacker. The nails in the coffin of Arsenal as contenders and becoming pretenders.
