Reminds me a bit of Damien Duff in style. He’s a very tricky, pacey winger - fits the profile of what we are after especially if he’s only got 1 year left on his contract in the summer. If we could get him for £20m, that would be a great price for a proven 25 year old. Feel like he will cost north of £30m though given the season he has had.
However, as good as Fraser has been this season, he’s not a player who I imagine the top 6 will be clamouring to sign. Might work in our favour when it comes to his transfer fee.
Nevertheless, he’d be a colossal improvement over Iwobi and give us genuine pace & width which we are severely lacking.
I’d be very happy taking a punt here, it’s one of those transfers that feels like it could have a huge potential upside, and if it doesn’t work out, he shouldn’t have cost us too much in the first place.
Also feel like we don’t often sign players of his type from within the league, for some reason that excites me a bit too.
This is something Wenger rarely did because he felt the players didn’t meet with his valuation but a player that is already playing in the PL, that has proven himself against top opposition, should be able to adjust quicker than a player who has only played in an inferior league.
If a player like Fraser can perform well at Bournemouth, then playing alongside Ozil, Aubameyang, Lacazette and Mkhitayran, should see him up his game even more.
