Honestly speaking I don’t rate Tielemans enough to want him here
I find it interesting that Brendan stuck by him this season. Leicester fans have done a complete u-turn on him.
They went from rating him as their best player and best midfielder in the league, begging he signed a new deal to a guy that’s a liability that needs to be benched and binned off in the summer.
I bought into this “he’s average” bollocks last summer and he’s gone on to have a quality season again in the toughest league in the world. There’s an exhausting amount of negativity with sport these days especially online that’s too easy to get sucked into. Fuck all that. Would be happy to bolster our deeper midfield depth with either Neves or Bissouma. Both class in their own way.
At least the CM market isn’t as dead as the striker market.
Neves, Bissouma, Sabitzer, Tielemans (love him or hate him) etc.
There are some good, affordable, and very “gettable” options out there for us. No excuse not to land a quality CM this summer.
Yep looking forward to some extra sauce in the middle of the park, no excuses.
I can’t believe how much his stock has dropped, I remember when he scored that FA Cup winning goal everyone would have given their left nut to have him in their team. I still actually think I’d be happy with him. Obviously not as extreme of case but reminds me of when no one wanted Mahrez because he had a sleepy season- what a miscalculation that turned out to be.
I think it just shows how much of a mental game football is. Many Spurs fans said Eriksen was their best player (with Kane) and then after the CL final his head dropped and when he left Spurs fans were happy to see the back of him. Then he went and won the Scudetto with Inter and is now balling out with Brentford.
Aubameyang couldn’t hit a fucking barn door for us for 5 months then went to Barcelona and started banging them in.
Tielemans has probably realised that the FA Cup is the best he can ever do with Leicester so he’s probably checked out mentally and needs a change of scenery. He could potentially come here and absolutely kill it.
In that case, hopefully he hasn’t been paying much attention to Arsenal post 2004
Tbf, we do have a coach that raises the level of midfielders that struggle. Xhaka, Elneny, Odegaard, ESR, hell he even made us think Ceballos was a proper player when we won the FA Cup.
£100m lmao
i think they have a typo i think they have put one too many zeros by mistake.
Watch them sell him to Barca now for 15-20 mill £
Chatting shit on the figure obviously, but I wonder what role Mendes plays when it comes to when players wanting to leave given his ‘relationship’ with Wolves.
£100m
I’d rather we take Tielemans at £30m tbh.
Even if they were the same price I reckon I might rather Tielemans, with the hope that a change of scenery could bring him back to his best.
Different players though? We probably need one of each type, although the ship probably has sailed regarding Neves.
A little but they’re out and out CM’s, I’d say Neves is more dogged out of possession and Tielsman - at their best - is better with the ball. With Partey at our base I’d prefer Tielsmans. Though yeh we’re probably going to need two regardless but I’d be surprised if they were both expensive EPL proven types.
Saying that I’d still love Bissouma here, so many were sleeping on him last summer.
Why do we need 2 midfielders?
Partey, Xhaka, new CM, Lokonga should be good to compete as #6s/#8s and then you have Odegaard and ESR competing for #8s/#10s.
Not even counting the youngsters like Patino, Azeez and others who are bound to receive more opportunities.
Azeez was piss poor in the league 1 so I’m glad you ain’t counting him.
