Imagine voluntarily choosing to move from Madrid to the NW of England.
Anyway, this is going to be a bidding war, I think we’re best off out of it. He’s an amazing player in a very average league. Spend it on Eze and maybe look at a few more young prospects to ensure we’re ready for the next gen first team.
Why though? How much are we asking for William Saliba when Real Madrid want him?
Rodrygo is a top player that we are allegedly interested in, club Presidents are entitled to ask what they want for players. Just because we are poor at selling players doesn’t mean everyone else has to.
Yeah, think it’s pretty known Real Madrid are major cunts. Signing any players from them will always be a struggle, unless the player truly wants out/is surplus to their requirements. And even then they won’t let it go easily.
Would rather us keep our powder (ro)dry(go), than pay silly money for an unhappy, unwanted player who I suspect will not live up to the hype playing in the Premier League.
Is this true?
Think our recent dealings with them have always been decent.
Both the fees for Ozil and Odegaard were fair(if not steals) and they let us loan Ceballos in back to back seasons (other clubs would’ve told us to get him on a permanent the second time around or fuck off).
Ozil was deadline day signing. Odegaard wasn’t in their plans but still they held out for 37m or so(decent bargain in the end, but not so at the time). And they kept letting Ceballos go on loan as it’s obvious now their intention was to keep him long term.
Nope, go check the posts when we signed him. We paid £30m for him which caught everyone by surprise at how cheap they ended up let him go for. Same summer there were news about him being untouchable and whatnot.
