It wasn’t a common thing to card for at all back then. I remember that very weekend PL fixture there were instances where it was not carded.
And as a ref why would you send someone off for something like that? Fair if it was just a yellow but it was the second yellow card. It’s ridiculous and lacked common sense.

It’s pretty common to kick the ball while one is in the process of attacking, especially one second after the referee blew the whistle.
That second yellow card was just to fuck us and give Barca an easy game.

Very odd seeing him in that top. Back in the day when previous season kits were still used for friendlies. Nowadays all the marketing would never allow that to happen.

I think we all felt that way. I can almost understand if a player is just so dead set on one club that we had no choice but to do business or risk a player basically going on strike, but I don’t remember RvP really dying to go to United. He just wanted to leave Arsenal.
