Riccardo Calafiori (33)

I think we can agree that it was good we didn’t cash in on him. He is playing really well and long may that continue!

@Starboy and @GC-Maniac you know me too well! :grinning:

Thought that he was really good. A bit more physical than I give him credit for as well.

Just hope that he doesn’t get a flurry of knee injuries in succession again moving forward. Fwiw, it’s a fair argument to suggest selling a player if they’re not available for a lengthy period of time.

Luckily it seems like Cala’s fitness woes are behind him. Long may it continue.

Yeah, as it’s being ponted out his biggest potential is in that CB position and my dream is for him to succed Gabriel as he gets older. The perfect scenario. He can play an important role as a LB and cover as a CB in the meantime.

At this moment I’d also like to remind many White is also a top CB. :white: That’s his best position ie. Would love to see him back there at some point.

Could never understand how many were so worried about not having enough CBs after Kiwi left while half of our squad are CBs lol.

Add Norgaard and Rice who can play centre back and the team’s all-rounder Mikel Merino who, we’ll find out at some point, also does the club’s accounts, provides legal advice and designed our stadium extension.

Such a shame. Was looking forward to him in a back 3 formation.

Misses out again this weekend, really hope this isn’t gonna see a repeat of last season after an injury free run

Do we even know the diagnosis of the injury lol?

Hopefully it’s just a small knock and the club are being extra cautious. We’ve got Hincapie doing a good job at LB so thankfully we made that signing in the summer because it gives us room to give our players extra recovery time

Fun fact: Hincapie is higher rated on FIFA/FC than Calafiori. :poldi: Just found out recently lol

We’re fine short term, Cala can take his time. I just hope this doesn’t affect him for the rest of the season and doesn’t wake up some issues he had in the past.

There doesn’t appear to be any long term issues, so hopefully these are just minor issues. We have cover, but just shows what an important player he has become for us that we’re all concerned when he is missing.

Just let him recover for as long as he needs. Hincapie is a great option to have for this reason and Gabriel coming back is perfect timing to play Piero at LB.
