Apparently we’ve offered £40m and they want at least £42.5m
Offense should be our priority imho. No harm in strengthening your defense but we need to spend more fund on our offense
Is left back really a huge priority? Spent a small fortune in Timber last season and about to drop another 40m in the same area again.
We need to add more goals to the squad imo, don’t have an issue adding quality to positions but do feel it could be better spent elsewhere first.
Viviano?
Sold.
Like @Jesseviolin I’d rather see him developed as a CB tbh with you. Think that’s where his calling is
We have more pressing positions to get reinforcements for. A striker being top priority.
But if he comes he comes would be great strengthening.
Califlower and Rice. Slowly becoming the vegan team
You think we’re signing a striker this window?
In today’s market £40m is not priority signing level money, especially for a young player.
Regarding Timber, it’s a huge ask to expect someone who’s signed for us and then been out injured for almost the entire last season to come in and make the position his own, however good his brief appearances have been.
Add to that it would still be our position with the weakest backup option of all imo
Consideration also needs to be given to CB. It would be pointless to bring in another top pure CB who would only play as backup/rotation to Gabriel/Saliba, but we do need quality backup in that position.
The best solution to me is to simultaneously improve the LB position (starting and cover), whilst also improving the CB backup options. 4 top players to cover 3 positions is reasonable, and even without injuries should allow plenty of gametime for all of them.
Cos he poses as some sort of ITK, talent-spotting God, when that title belongs to people like me
I have no idea, but I’d hope so. Jesus is washed
Defence is definitely an area we need to address.
Saliba and Gabriel played pretty much every game. I don’t think they missed a single game due to injury or suspension?
It’s actually surprising considering the worries about Saliba’s back last year around this period. Gabriel has apparently been nursing an injury throughout the season too. White had some knee issue too that he was gonna look into this summer.
Considering we’ll have more games this season and hopefully deeper runs in the cups, it is something we have to address.
Not sure we’ll be lucky enough to keep 3 out of 4 players in our backline fit all season for 50 or even more games.
Ngl, that’s cool.

Amazing
Not forgetting if it wasn’t for injuries to Acerbi and Scalvini I doubt he wouldn’t even be in the Italian squad .
If Italy weren’t so shit everywhere else on the pitch all this talk about him wouldn’t be happening.
People need to understand he’s far from the finished article as well. Sometimes he does things that remind me of Nesta and Maldini (the hair definitely plays a part lol). But defensively he is nowhere near the finished article just yet. For every Nesta like defensive tackle or Maldini like carrying of the ball, his positioning can be funky sometimes and he doesn’t read the game defensively at a high level yet.
He’s probably 4th choice CB like you said behind Bastoni, Acerbi and Scalvini
Am I alone in thinking that Spalletti should have gone for a back 3 of Calafiori-Bastoni-Mancini in this tournament? Or am I too biased trying to fit in Gianluca in?
Mancini is shit
