Yep, he’s talking about fish and chips as a cheat meal once a month. Fucking hope he doesn’t start indulging in that on a more regular basis, lol.
I assume he didn’t mention how shit most of our pizza places are. Undiplomatic but true.
We don’t need another Andre Santos.
I can only imagine what he’d think of Chicago-style.
I know everyone’s hyped on this guy and he’s still young/adapting but he really does cough up just as many chances as zinchenko defensively.
Another one yesterday where he needlessly tucked in and got sucked towards the ball, left some Bournemouth cunt wide open at the back post only to blaze over.
Good signing but plenty of work to do defensively.
He was hyped because his ceiling is high.
He has the ingredients to be good.
Zinny on the other hand, no hope.
Does he? I feel more secure with him in the backline than Zinchenko. It could just be recency bias.
Said it before, will say it again.
He is abysmal defensively. Love his aggression though, if he can apply that defensively we have a player on our hands
Abysmal? Wtf lol
Do you just love to say ridiculous things?
Mustafi was abysmal defensively. Calafiori is 22 iirc? He looks more assured now than Gabriel did when he joined from France. He’ll be fine.
What adjective would you prefer oh, holy one?
I said back in April or May that I was a fan of Calafiori. He has tremendous potential and he genuinely has shades of some kind of hybrid Maldini and Nesta.
I’ve said before we signed him that he has a lot of work to improve his overall defensive game but the potential is clear for all to see. He is a much better CB than he is at LB and that is because the positions present different sets of challenges to a defender. Both myself and @Jesseviolin spoke about how much better we thought his development would be served playing as a CB but ultimately that’s not what is happening and that’s fine.
In addition, Arteta absolutely asks him to tuck into certain positions and to be aggressive in how he drives forward and finds space with his passing. That approach from a full back will ALWAYS come with what looks like defensive deficiencies but is actually more tactical than defensive.
He is an aggressive front foot defender, elegant in the tackle and physically strong. He has a very good set of qualities as a defender and with time he has the potential to be one of the very best in the world in his position.
Excuse not granted for zinchenko though
Not saying you specifically but generally.
Brilliant in the air, physically able and great positional. Not the quickest and quite aggressive.
Different stratosphere to Zinchenko defensively. I would say all of White, Timber and Tomi are better in 1 vs 1 situations.
Think he’s done fantastically adapting to the Premier League to be honest.
I think that’s the part that’s impressed me the most.
If this is as good as his defending gets even after moving inside, we could have a discussion about it. But I’m still hoping our resident Serie A watchers were correct and he’s got levels to go.
Full agreement, Joshua and Truth hurts. He’s only been here five minutes. Well worth the perseverance.
I’m extremely worried. I think it could be a potential ACL or MCL. Similar to Timber’s injury.
Hopefully I’m wrong.

I don’t think knees should bend like that.
He seemed to walk off okay, though. Surely an ACL or MCL would change his gait some.
Oh ffs. That fake ACL twitter report and now this.
