Did not show well
Solid performance although at times he did look uncomfortable against pace. Calafiori is a rare profile that I haven’t seen before. For his physical status, he sure does possess rare attributes.

He’s a much better CB than he is LB and his defensive flaws will be exposed over the course of the year. He definitely finds defending from a a central role easier as the full back position exposes you to a different set of defensive challenges.
But he’s a very good player and I’m excited to see how he improves over the course of the year.

Not really that great so far. Just marginally better than Zinchenko right now.
Hope he gets better from here.

His defensive ability has gone from being overrated to underrated.
He is much better than zinchenko defensively.
Sure he has to do some work on getting the balance properly.

He has some parts of his game to improve, yes, but he’s already quite good and people also forgetting he’s still only 22 and still developing.
Not to overhype the kid, but think he’s going to become one of those players like Maldini who’s equally good at both LB and CB in about a couple years time.

I would have hoped he would have had more pace, that seems to be how he gets done defensively. He will be targetted in our back line, same way Zinchenko is.
He is a better defender than though. Overall Zinchenko is probably slightly better going forward but Calafiori isn’t far off.
He is no where near the finished product, will be interesting to see how he develops.
He’s a thousand times better than Zinchenko defensively. Quite bizarre anyone would not consider him an upgrade.
I even prefer the positions he takes up and the way he plays going forward to Zinchenko

Massive upgrade on Zinchenko. Zinchenko is better in the ball, but he’s better than 95% of full backs in that regard. Defensively, Calafiori trumps him in every department.
He got done a couple of times yesterday by lively forward, but his ability to recover (not through pace) is insane.

One reason is enough, cause he is a proper defender.
